AMB System Alternatives?
Hi Guys,
Is there a decent rival for the BBK AMB equipment? Enquired today and its the best part of £3000. I dont mind paying this if its the only item on the market as it is a very good system and well developed, but is there an alternative on the market? Neil

Fired off an email to a few parties to see what they say about AMB integration.

I've looked into it for a number of small clubs here, scared away by the AMB pricetag - the alternatives are all infrared based and thus require line-of-sight. AMD / MyLaps is of course radio-based, so no LoS required.
IR systems work fine, but you have to set up the arch or spotter (there's one from Sweden, DirtChamp, with Bluetooth wireless connection to the computer) somewhere the cars are likely not to crash, as an upside-down car sliding across the line will not get counted. I'd be keen to know of any other radio-based systems.
