I got an s3 an well impressed with it I don't know if I'd want a lighter thinner version and on the very odd occasion it freezes I can pop the battery and not wait hours for it to sort itself out as a mate does when his htc does it

I'm due an upgrade at the end of June and would like to go from my S2 to the S4.

Main thing that worries me though is battery life. It's appalling on my S2 despite fitting a 2350mAh battery - doesn't last anywhere near a day despite absolutely minimal use. Just sittig on my desk you can watch the power draining away.

I've been told it's down to the ICS software and that Jellybean fixes the issue - but it doesn't appear to be compatable with the S2.

Any ideas if this problem has been addressed with the S4?

S4 battery life is indeed improved, however it's still not as good as the HTC. Plus Samsung still use plastic so it feels cheap compared to most other smart phones. The majority of tech reviews show the S4 comes out on top narrowly beating the HTC but most respected sites are saying wait for the new iPhone which, if Apples 'accidentally leaked', photos and specs are to be believed will be a dramatic improvement on anything available now. It's due in either June or September, I'd go for the latter date as that follows the Keynote.

I have a htc one, not that impressed with it, wish I waited for the s4. It maybe just the fact I always had an iPhone then came to htc so not used to it

I've got an S3 at the minute and can't fault it. Build quality isn't as good as HTC IMO, but you can't have everything. The battery is a lot better than my S2 was.

Feel a bit ripped off that the UK versions of the S4 won't be the full fat 8core spec'd versions though.

It was either these two or the Sony Xperia z for me and I settled on the z. Glad I did too. The battery is excellent and the build quality is top notch. Hold the z and then the s4 and the galaxy just feels cheap. The Z looks gorgeous as well

Weird. I've had jelly beam on my s2 since before Christmas. Ish.
Standard update. No hacks required.

Me too, my battery lasts a good couple of days as well. I don't do much talking, but I'm often browsing with it.
