Default Bj4we or b44

Right guys, I have put this post in both Jconcepts and associated section to get maximum response. I currently have a bj4we and love it, and really don’t want to get rid of it, I would but a new one if they were available but, after many emails back and forth to Jconcepts it looks like they have discontinued it.

So what I want to know is, those of you that have moved from a bj4we to a b44 have you noticed any difference? Or would you suggest another car??

Cheers

Hi,

I have the two cars and for race i would recommend the B44 because its easier to buy parts and the car is more forgiven its not so direct drive, but the Jconcepts its my baby and i will never sell the BJ4WE i love to drive indoors with BJ4

Best regards

the b44 is a little more forgiving to drive, also the slipper assembley on the b44 is miles better than the one on the bj4.as mentioned the parts are a hell of alot easier to get hold of for a b44 to.

I'd say it depends what your after Chris.

If you want minimum hassle then it's going to be the B44 but if you want the best car it's going to be the BJ4.

Slipper is ace on the B44 and the wider spacing on the pinion gear bearings means that the pinion does not strip as easily so you can pretty much say that the B44 transmission is bulletproof.

However try as I might I just couldn't make the B44 handle the same as my BJ4, I also found exactly the same with my S44 and S4.

The B44 has lost the sharpness and awesome feedback that maket the car so fantastic to drive, it's as if Associated have stripped the car of it's soul and then chucked it in a box.

I have just bought another S4 (BJ4 based Atomic Carbon car) and I have to say nothing else I have ever driven can compare to it.

Having driven a BJ4 for over a year I have found my TRF511 to feel alot better. I have also driven the durangos and like the feel of them but still prefer the tamiya.
