listing something at a high price is 1 thing, but selling it is another.

The first one is definitely an original, notice the text in the gold circles on the box are different to the rerelease. On the rerelease the right hand circle says "two types of bodys" and "limited edition". The silhouette drawing is also of the original, it's quite a bit different on the rerelease box.

As Big G says, listing a price isn't the same as selling it. I could list a Mad Rat at £5000, doesn't mean they are worth that much.

It is a little pricey, the going rate for good condition Black Porsches is around $5000 - and they sell for that much.

I'm guessing the 959 rally car will go up in value because the
sand scorcher and Super Champ got re-releases. It's not known
if the 959 will ever see a re-release.
Is this chassis the same as the 959?

The SRB rereleases won't affect the price of 959s, people who want the 959 are not necessarily SRB or 934 fans.
After all the rereleases haven't affected the prices of the original Rough Rider and Sand Scorcher. The rereleases have had no effect as there's actually very little that's the same as the originals.
