I personally really like RCS liquid mask from Jon Miller (rcsgraphicworx) it goes on nicely and peels off a treat.
There are others such as Fasmask which is ok and Bob Dively (incredibly hard to get hold of over here but also heard really good things about) If I were you I'd get the rcs stuff, either from xfactory (distributor), or order through your local hobby shop or through the rcs website.

rcs liquid mask
I recently used the RCS mask for the first time, I put down 4 coats leaving a day between coats to dry, when I cut the mask last night it started splitting along the cut lines and leaving gaps about .5mm wide... almost like it was stretched, so I have had to peel it off and start again, I washed the shell thoroughly with warm soapy water and dried it with a lint free cloth etc... Is there any reason why it could have done this ?
It has been kept in the house not the shed so it's not frozen at any point or anything daft like that and I gave it a good shake before applying to make sure it was mixed... I'm at a bit of a loss to think what went wrong  Any thoughts ? Cheers, Aaron.

I've had that happen with vinyl when as you say it's been stretched but I've never had it with LM.
The fact it's brushed on means it can't be stretched, your brush puts it onto the contours of the body work so I can't see that having done it ? Normally when I'm cutting it out it's a nightmare to actually see where I've been, never had it split apart. The only thing was maybe it was a bit thick, I only put 2 or 3 coats on for the water based paint. Even when I used to more on to use it with solvent based it's never done that ?

yes, a strange one. i would hazard a guess at it being on there too thick also and one of the underlying layers not being dried properly.
do thinner coats and force dry it on a radiator or hairdryer etc.

I think your problem maybe with the time you leave between coats (my personal opinion) I think that by leave a days drying time between coats you are creating 4 separate layers (hence they come off seperate and not in one piece) I would recommend laying down a coat, followed by a blow dry with the hairdryer
 until it starts to look dry, then put on your second coat and follow the same procedure for the amount of coats you want. I normally use 3-4 medium coats applied with a brush.Good luck and let us know how the next try goes, it really is good stuff to use.

Sounds to me like it's been too thick, I've seen it very rarely, but it's been when I've absolutely slapped the LM down.
Have used Bob Dively's too and would Definatly prefere the RCS mask. It's easier to use, and A touch tougher, which makes it easier to peel and less fiddly with the very fine details. Love the fact it's tinted too. 4 light coats are plenty btw, and they dry quicker.

Couple of quick Q's
 If you spray it on do you use the same airbrush you use for painting or one with a bigger nozzle? How many TC shells can you mask with a 500ml bottle? Cheers
