SCT Nationals Points?
Can anyone shed any light on how the sct points system works and do they use the same scoring system for nationals as well as other competitions?
Here is the final results tables for both 2wd and 4wd from this years nationals, 200 I assume is just for finishing 1st place, but the other points do they depend on times or amount of laps and does it depend on the amount of racers per heat to determine the points scored? http://www.ukshortcourse.com/results/ Would like to have a crack next year depending on venues hopefully for the experience and enjoyment rather than finishing a certain position on the table (I will be somewhere near the bottom lol) and hope to pick up some tips along the way but still interested as to how it all works Cheers |

This is how it's normally scored !
You score points in the position you finish in your final. 1st 200 pts 2nd 199 pts 3rd 198 pts 4th 197 pts 5th 196 pts etc,

Not entirely correct.
Half points for qualifying and the other half for finals. i.e. TQ 100 points, 2nd 99 and so on. The 100 points for winning the A and 99 for 2nd and so on. So if you are 2nd in qualifying and 2nd in the finals then 198 points. If that makes any sense!

you must only be able to get a certain amount of points in each category final otherwise lets say you consistently make the d final and win them say, if you got the same points as the A final winner you would be level with the best even though you made the D finals, so I guess there is a cut off point for each rating final which will enable you to score so many points depending on which final you make, if that makes sense and I understand it right....of course I might be totally wrong lol

was his truck faster than the rest or did he just make the least mistakes and took a better driving line - either way he's some racer alright did he not win the nationals with the Durango 210 the previous year as well? I wonder if he races buggies too or weather he concentrates mainly on racing sct's?

Danny races buggies as well & is the 2014 East of England 2wd Champ, so you could say he's quite handy!

A final win = 100 points minus 1pt per position, so win the B final = 90, C final = 80. so pole in the B = 90 points, finish last in the final = 81 points. Total for meeting = 171 points.
