Hi all,

Delighted to hear that so many of you are planning to attend the RCCAOI National in Navan, best of luck and see you on Sunday

Anyone wishing to lend a hand with some final track preparation work - there is a work party meeting between 11am and 2pm on Saturday.... but just to remind you that the track is closed all this week to registered competitors.

Could Mark Penney wrap up the 2wd Modified Championship this Sunday

Best of luck to all

Very confused by this. (I'm sure I am not the only one.)

This is the first time it has been stated the track is closed to competitors.

Surely for this to be official, the membership must be informed by the RCCAOI section chairman. At the moment it's just a post on a forum.

This didn't happen at the other rounds.
Why can it happen now?

Is this something that is stated in the rules. I don't have the time to read the rules. But as a very long time member of the RCCAOI and holding various committee position in that time. This is the first time I every heard of this being discussed for 1/10 off-road.

It would be helpful for all concerned if the section chairman could show where in the rules it allows for this.

Hi Mick,

RCCAOI section rules would only apply to hosted meetings.
Why would the RCCAOI rules ever apply to clubs when no meeting is being held?
Regards,

Will

P.S. - Please see http://www.oople.com/forums/showpost...1&postcount=24 you'll note that this was done last year. Also, re: Round 1 of this year, the track was being built/modified on the week up to the round, so was closed by default. And the Ecos Centre in Ballymena for Round 2 is closed to racers every week...... so nothing new here.
I hope you enjoy racing on Sunday and are a participant in restoring enjoyable competition in our sport.

Will,

You are still avoiding the many issues.

Navan: You are the one stating that the track in Navan is off limits.
As I've already asked if this is official then it should be sent out to the membership by the official representative, the RCCAOI 1/10 scale section chairman.
You may not be aware but not every one reads OOple.com (shocking I know.)

Has the Navan club been informed that people have been banned / prevented from using their track?

The post you linked to about the round last year in Lucan.
How do you close off a public park?
A rule that cannot be enforced is not a rule.
(How was this enforced? What proof was there that no-one used the track.)

This year, Round 1, did this happen. Any reference to where the DMCC stated the the track / venue would be closed the week before the national.
Are you 100% there was no regular Thursday night practice evening, the week before the national?
(Again how was this enforced / policed.)

The year, Round 2, the club only has access to the track on pre-definded dates. So the track was not specifically 'off-limits' due to the national round. There was no access to the track regardless of what was happening at the week-end.

Really this is a matter for the section chairman to answer. The questions raised need to be answered by an actual official.

Hi Mick,

Didn't intend to avoid your questions, and your right I'm not an elected official, just one member trying to help a confused other member - please see detailed answers to questions below

As track access is only permitted for insurance reasons to NNN members, this would only effect racers that are NNN members and RCCAOI members. See 'Navan Electric Racing' post or http://rccaoi.com/tenthoffroad/41-te...track-day.html also
Surely for this to be official, the membership must be informed by the RCCAOI section chairman. At the moment it's just a post on a forum. SEE RCCAOI.com - 2/8/12, Announcement made. http://rccaoi.com/tenthoffroad/41-te...track-day.html
As Navan is only open during the week to NNN members it would be unfair to allow practice for some RCCAOI competitors and not for others on the lead up to the event. Also, work being carried out on the track may result in people wanting to practice being turned away. NNN closed the track with the Section Reps agreement.

This didn't happen at the other rounds. Not Correct. Yes it did.
Why can it happen now?

Is this something that is stated in the rules. I don't have the time to read the rules. But as a very long time member of the RCCAOI and holding various committee position in that time. This is the first time I every heard of this being discussed for 1/10 off-road. Doesn't require ruling. RCCAOI rules are applicable to RCCAOI meetings only. Not practice or any other day at the club except RCCAOI meetings.

It would be helpful for all concerned if the section chairman could show where in the rules it allows for this. He may do.

MiCk B. :-)
Hope this helps Mick. If you are still confused we'll go through it all on Friday when I call over to you.

Has the Navan club been informed that people have been banned / prevented from using their track? It's NNN policy

The post you linked to about the round last year in Lucan.
How do you close off a public park? Not closing off the public park, just stopping people from practicing on the track.
A rule that cannot be enforced is not a rule.
(How was this enforced? What proof was there that no-one used the track.) Several random visits by committee members at key time on the lead up to the event.

This year, Round 1, did this happen. Any reference to where the DMCC stated the the track / venue would be closed the week before the national.
Are you 100% there was no regular Thursday night practice evening, the week before the national?
(Again how was this enforced / policed.)
Thursday night racing did not take place as the track was being finished. If there is no track how can you practice?

The year, Round 2, the club only has access to the track on pre-definded dates. So the track was not specifically 'off-limits' due to the national round. There was no access to the track regardless of what was happening at the week-end.

Will,

What you've posted has only added to the confusion, it seams the information you are supplying is changing / different each time.

I fail to see how you talking at me will solve anything.

As I have stated a number of time and you have ignored each and every time. It is the RCCAOI section chairman that should be supplying this information to the membership.

hi will, this post http://www.oople.com/forums/showpost...1&postcount=24 from last year was not by the direction of the rccaoi rep(myself)and could not be enforced by the rccaoi.i took it that this was posted and the threat of punishment where coming from the dmcc of which you where an official.you are not an official of the rccaoi and just to clarify are you an official of the navan club?the tone of your posts would indicate that you are.
there was practice during the week leading up to the first round in the naul a fact you are aware of.no problem with the nnn policy but you should get your facts right or leave the posting of information to the elected officals
