can you upgrade a GM120bl speedo on version 7.2 software to the latest 11.6 via a usb lead ??????

No. You can send it back to GM and get version 8 firmware which is supposed to give similar tuning options to 11.x but without the telemetry functions.

The two speedos (2009 up to v8, and 2010 v10 and above) have different components, hence you can't apply the user-updatable firmware to the older model speedos
