Schumacher Cat / Procat part wanted
Hi All
I know this isn't the classified section but am hoping someone can help. Am restoring a Cat XLS / pro cat but am missing the front belt tensioner plate T292. Hoping someone might have one for sale.. Thanks Martin |

Martin,
Forgive me if I'm pointing out the obvious but an XLS would not have had this part, and the front diff casing was different (no slot for belt tensioner), and the XLS bumper didn't have access holes for adjusting the tensioner like the Procat did. If this is a runner you are building you may not be too concerned with originality, in which case the Procat setup is better but you will need the Procat diff casings with the slot if you want to run a tensioner. I have quite a lot of Procat and earlier CAT stuff, so if you want me to take a look for the T292 and any other parts I can (just might take me a few days to find time to dig it all out!) Let me know if there are other parts you need. Cheers, Nigel |

Hi Nigel
Thanks for the info. Yep gear casings have the slot etc however the front bumper doesn't have the holes. Am sure it is a pro at ..... Mainly. The giveaway was the white fibreglass, saddle pack slots and the rear wing mount. I'm no expert on early cats however I did race against them in my youth with an rc10 and a highly modified kyosho progress. I always wanted one but never got round to buying one ... Until now. Am looking forward to running it at my local club however it won't be in competition just a bit of fun. Anyway if you do happen to have this part and want to sell it I would be greatful. Also need a set of wheels. Cheers, Martin |

I use spacers to tension the belt, like so...

Thats a good idea Luke!
The Procat that I brought had the T292 part missing, also the gearbox housing is clamped with machine screws & nuts running all the way through those 'L' shaped brackets instead of the self-tapping screws as shown in the manual... but I believe this was common practice Bitd as you got enough clamping force to hold the front gearbox/diff housing in place without the bar.

Long screw all the way through the "L" and nuts on top was very common - as the self tappers stripped the plastic!

I run a long screw all the way through the gearbox/L brackets.
If no-one can help you with the tensioning bar, let me know, I have some somewhere... |

I realise this post is quite old, but do you still have pro cat spares? I am trying to get my old one running for my son, but can't find the speed controller. Hope you can help. Ant. |

Didn't think any of the cats came with a speedo. I could be wrong as my last racer for off road was the XLS. Sparky |
