Nope and doubt anyone would as the zx and zxr wishbones are of a superior quality and not a cheapo breakable product like the fs2 wishbones

Are the original ZX wishbones any stronger than the ZX-R wishbones? I have a set of NIP ZX wishbones and they sure look alot uglier than the ZX-R Wishbones!

Welshy,

Do you know how difficult it is to get a CF tub chassis now?

Or do I have to make a blue anodized alloy tub chassis myself?

Welshy will be able to confirm but from what I know Fibrelyte do not have or can't find the mould for the tub chassis so are unable to make one now.
I think Welshy is going to use the broken tub he recently got a hold off to have another mould made.

Speaking of CF moulds Oosh would you be open to the idea of having Fibrelyte make the CF front bumper for us if it works out easier than dealing with your supplier?

I don't look at it as a quality thing more of a geometry performance thing, The front suspention is not so much to my liking. I'm going to try it...winter project here I come.

I have talked to fibrelyte before. They told me that they will do it if I order quantities in the hundreds.

That's why I went with other companies.

So all parts had arrived.

There are some fitting issues about the belt tensioner that have to sort out inorder to send them off to you guys.

For people who didn't order the rear gear box, I will send your parts to you tomorrow (Monday).

My Lazer project had ended and here are some of the pictures for the last bits.

And the one piece that started it all. That is a 3Racing 25x25mm fan.
Sorry Welshy, you have to file yours to fit.

Yup its hard and as they either gave my original mold to someone or lost it they have been a bit stuck but this weekend the original first prototype cf tub chassis which has had better days is going home to be remolded so it canbe used again. I did notice that my chassis design im currently using is roughly 3mm off on both sides so from memory wasnt right, so when this is made I do believe finally the car will be better balanced.

What fan is that and will it be a direct fit and double sided tape to my version? Great you finally sorted that idea out by the way.

How long do you think it will be till the new mould is made?
How do they make the tub chassis, do they mould it then finish it on the CNC?
I'd like to get a tub made to suit a Mid and if they use the above process the Lazer Tub could be used as the starting point then a different CNC program to finish it. If you lay the LWB Mid chassis over the Lazer chassis there are quite a few holes in the same places actually

BTW is it just me or is the board no longer sending out emails when there are updates to subscribed threads?

Uglier yes but much stronger most definately, however the ZXR wishbones are ridiculously strong anyway and nothing is as strong as them on the market now, only the YZ10 came close to matching the ZX/ZXR wishbone strength

Unsure about these emails as I just check this site regularly, but they make a mold and from there they then basically paint layers on etc etc to get the shape and rigidity etc. Im unsure how long it will take but hoping I can get one by the latest January or February 2013.

I know that they will have to make a new mold for the Mid so would advise sending them a new undertray (I think cut but would advise finding out before you do that) and a chassis so they can make the mold from that.

I want to be able to use a ZX-R or Tomcat shell on the Mid so the ZX-R tub will be fine, its just the front and rear extensions that need to be different and the pattern for the holes they drill, I would imagine those areas are finished on the CNC after the tub section is laid out so perhaps they can make me what I want, I will wait till they finish this order and then ask I guess

it's a 3Racing 25mm x25mm Fan it's super glued on to the alloy part.

you will need to file 0.5mm off both side of the wall on your alloy part as it is 24mm.

Daft idea but what if i redesigned the spur gear with a fan so the air goes through to the metal motor plate? Other idea is fitting the fan in the rear gearbox.
