Default Nosram / LRP Alloy Vented End Plates

Anyone used the following?

Slotted Plate for pinion end, standard --- LRP 50616. Nosram 90616.

Slotted Plate for pinion end, thin --- LRP 50617. Nosram 90617.

What were the effects / feel on the motor?

Gear up / Gear down etc?

They are just for cooling afaik, the thinner front plate is for moving the weight about in TC/12th's.

If anything they'd make the magnets weaker so more RPM + less torque, but I can't see them having that much effect in that respect.

Er... they're made of aluminium... which is not magnetic... and the magnets are in the rotor... which is not in contact with anything in the motor... Want to try that again??

You can create eddy currents in aluminium with a moving magnet in close proximity though, how that would effect our motors though I'm not sure - the aluminium probably isn't thick/close enough to have any real effect.
