just because it doesn;t come loose while running doesn't mean it isn't tight enough. I had to tighten mine until i couldn't hardly tighten it any more.
to test, hold one wheel and the spur gear, keep them still so they don't turn, then turn the other wheel with your other hand. You should see the slipper turning. If the slipper stays still while the wheel turns then your diff is too loose.

the slipper and spur on the Ansmann, it isn't the best, the spur isn't completely circular, so it has high spots, and the spur material is yuk. If you were going to change, buy a B4 slipper assembly and spur, although you would have to ream out the inner bores to 5mm.
Migsy will tell you, mine is noisey, but no slip, and my cars don't do 'bad maintenance'

Alan.

Kev Brunsden at Apex was telling me he found the Spring inside the diff to have completely lost it's tension and just shrunk up to the size it would have been compressed to.
This would cause major problems with it slipping to check the spring when you take the diff apart. He found a Tamiya diff spring that fits, although i'm not sure which one so may be worth looking into that or possibly even an RB5 diff if the main gear fits? |

Would the whole rb5 gear housing fit??

Nick, I could be wrong, but I don't think so, all the Tamiya diff's have the same screw, nut, spring and thrust setup, and it be all metric, worth a bash!! I did notice that the spring compressed alot between the pliers.
