Novak Kinetic in a B4.1
Hi All,
I was wondering if how many people run the Novak Kinetic in their 4.1's and what motor are they using with it, 6.5 or 7.5. I'm going to be using this on fairly large tracks, Southport, Bury mostly. Also any pictures on how people have installed them would be a help. Thanks. |

I use kinetic around 8 months now
I run a 10.5T balistic motor with advance timing and my motor is as fast as a 8.5T and very smooth for 2wd car I believe in your tracks maybe a 8.5T will be a good choice and tune it with novalink |

Hi, I run one in my X6 (same gearbox ratio) with an 8.5 motor and a little bit of timing. As above it's as fast as anything else but very smooth. As long as the straight at southport is, it doesn't contribute massivley to your overall lap time, certainly but being really punchy on the in field could cost you more time that gained on the straight. Bury straight isn't that long due to the apex and the hump (actually is the old track still there?). Also due to grip I run my slipper really loose at both tracks to smooth it out and keep the front down.
If you're concerned about being too slow get the 7.5 but I would not suggest the 6.5. Note this is assuming you have decent cells and running a novak motor. I know other motors vary speed due to internal timing and other things.

Hi Dan,
I'll be using the 60c reedy lipo so a 6.5 might be over kill? I'll try a 8.5 with some timing. What software version are you guys running on the Kinetic, any issues going from 1.3 to 1.4? Thanks. |

The latest version 1.4 is the best so far and has more tuning aids than before
It is difficult to put much timing to a lower turn motor I believe the 8.5 could be a good choice If you want to go to a lower turn motor try the current limiter on the novak software to control the power at acceleration and find a good point to disable the current limiter to have more power at higher rpm Advance timing depends on the motor around 10-20 degrees |

Hi Nic,
Have you managed to get 1.4 to run successfully? I normally run touring car, we have been struggling with temps of the power cap on 1.4 and have chosen to go back to 1.3, thats why I ask tbh. |

Are you running the same brain board that came with the speedo originally?
