Default Club Personal Transponder system

I did ask about this but theres so much to digest since getting back I've totally forgotten the answer! Which transponder type will I need to look out for thats recognised by the club computer?

Where do I buy the transponders, and is it a case if I was to race at another venue say for a comp.... Would the transponder stay with me or do you need a transponder for each club ? What ever happened to the spectrum computer and you pressed a button ?

Default Transponders

Once you have a pt fitted in your car it will work at 90% of clubs
Some clubs are still using the old amb 20 system but not many and non i believe in the north east
There is also an issue with a new transponder system that amb have brought out where older ambrc and mrt transponders dont work but from what i gather most clubs agree that they will not upgrade to the new system
If you want to be safe i would try to buy an amb harry pt as this is supposed to work with both new and old system
Where as the new amb percy will only work with the new system
I personally took the cheap option and bought mrt ptx and have never had a problem with them

It is a pain having to pay as much for a pt but some clubs help
And have handout transponders which you can loan
Teeside, jarrow and benfield use handouts where you attach to shell
Barley mow have a limited number of loan out mrt ptx transponders
Hope this helps
There is also a full discussion on oople about the new transponder system
