Default voltage question

looking to buy a futaba 4pls with R304SB Receiver in 1/5 scale.
The R304SB Receiver state a operating range of 4.8-7.4v would I need a Bec or can the receiver work with a 2s lipo without frying it.

Get an life 2s instead. IIRC they are 6.8 fully charged. (I rarely charge mine, so can't remember exactly!)

I don't think 6.8v would give enough power to the 4 heavy duty servo's.
The receiver states 7.4v as max which is basic 2s lipo but they always charge higher than that and I don't know if that's taken into account.

A LiFe 2 cell battery is a nominal 6.6V but charges to 7.2V.
