Show us your YZ-2
Thought I'd start this off...
Just finished shot: One can wonder so I can run it while my main shell is being painted. Install: Still a bit of room to play with, I may rewire it to get receiver flat, rotating speedo. Need to take some proper shots before it gets too used.

Here is mine after it's first meeting yesterday. Shell is on it's way from the painter, will stick a post up once it's mounted.
I am going to get rid of the mounted for body clips, but the way my wires stick out my motor, they push my shell up a little so they have been quite handy in keeping the shell down. Going to probably upgrade to the Sanwa 471 receiver for more room also.

Looking good guys! Got my chassis together, just need to fit the front arms/shocks, but i did spend some time playing with the install!
Ive found the best way for me, is my HW3.1 on the left, RX451 on the right, both mounted side by side, and all i have to do id shave about 2mm off the aerial mount, small price to pay! With my low pro Savox, ive a nice little space for the cap and wiring, its tight, but i reckon i can get a happy set up haha! The build is sweet, glides together! Lee

It was a big squeeze for mine with the full size servo and orion r10. The body shell hasn't got a lot of clearance for motor wires and sensor lead apart from that one of the best builds and quality I have seen in 20 years! Can't wait to run it now gonna try kit setup first and hope it's almost right. Is everyone running rear shocks on the front?

Front for high and med grip and rear for slippy I think mate. The damping and springs feel a bit soft out the kit for high grip so shocks on front should be fine for most carpet and astro tracks. I'm running mine at maritime for first run and that's a mix of slippy and high grip so I dunno lol

I went with 500/400CST oils with kit pistons rather than the included 400/300CST oils.

I ran carpet with shocks on front, however the carpet had been unused for 5 weeks and was slightly damp. Car still gripped well cornering but under hard acceleration it wanted to break away.
Unfortunately we only had 4 heats and were pushed for time so I didn't have the opportunity to move shock position. I went with kit oil, however i went for Yatabe orange front (4wd) springs and yatabe green (4wd) rear. Due to the way the carpet was yesterday, I am going for shocks on rear and back to kit springs for this weekend until I get some option springs. Regardless of the acceleration issue, I just needed to be careful on corner exit, however I still won the A by a lap.

Here is mine. Build quality is on another scale.
Electrics were a bit of a squeeze but got there. Worksop at weekend for it's maiden voyage.

Mine is built but waiting for the shell and thinner wire, space is tight with a full size servo. Last edited by tomtom; 20-01-2015 at 07:25 PM. |
