Default Couple of Quick X5 Questions

Hi all,

couple of quick questions:

1. What pitch is the spur on the X5, and how are people gearing 5.5's in it?

2. What's the trick for holding the rear hinge pin brace on, I saw someone use shock shafts off something, can anyone tell me what from and what size nut fits on the end?

3. Anyone got part numbers for the bushings for the shock tops (Losi shocks)?

Cheers

1. It is 48dp, usually run a 5.5 at around a 17 pinion (depending on track)with the 108 spur

2. The brace does not have to "hold on" it is OK loose but some racers use the Losi front 0.6" shock shafts with a 4-40 nut on them

3. Two different numbers for the bushings, the older type A5008 and the newer (smooth edged, not hex shape) ones are A5013 (in stock if needed)

Best Wishes

Darren

Quick comment: you need 5-40 nuts for the shock shaft mod, not 4-40.

Also, there's a nice gearing chart here: http://www.4wdrc.com/tech/DriveRatio2.htm though it needs updated (again) with the newer, bigger spurs.

Dave another option for the rear hinge pin brace is to use xxx rear hinge pins i got some for a pound from the bay and only put the e-clip on one end to hold the brace on.
