Default Cougar front offset sockets

Is any one else having problems with there offset sockets on the front top links, I don’t have any problems indoors but when I race outside mainly grass track (Tiverton outdoor track) it seems even a fairly small tumble is enough for them to pop off?
I’ve replaced the originals now but even the new ones are popping off.

Could be because of the high temperatures these days. Makes the plastic softer.

Try switching the balls with a new set of ball ends. Don't add any lubricants or any foam discs between the two. If you remove them too often this can loosen the plastic to the point where it can't hold any more. I put mine in once and haven't touched them since and haven't had any problems and I'm not so gentle on my car. Can you post a picture?

Yep thats the thing i thought well i've popped them off a couple of times (swapping wishbones around changing to ti turnbuckles) so I fitted new ones and never touched them and they popped of Sunday, i have not tried new balls yet though just new sockets.
I was thinking of getting these http://www.southwatercycles.com/prod...59p31844&rs=gb
and drilling them through, chopping the top of the socket off and then bolting all the way through.

It doesn't make a difference, don't waste your money on ti. You probably have ball that is made to small, it happens.

they both measure 4.26mm so a little on the small side but nothing major, Not really bothered about the material just need some with a socket in them so they'll be easyer to drill out. Cheers for the suggestions though.

Check that you haven't cracked the cups. Otherwise, not sure why they pop off. However, generally most Ti balls are a little bigger, so just switching to those may even help.
