Dex210 lower rear shock tower

Hi, i have tought some around that rear shock tower is rather tall. And shock shaft long, some has fitted shorter. I will make shock tower 1cm lower but same fittings, that will make wing look better on car too. I will test next week @ lokal club race.

That wont work as it will really impact the handling of the car. The suspension travel will be reduced considerably and make it rubbish over bumps (as well as other adverse handling affects).

Ruining a fantastic car is not innovation.

If this worked manufacturers would use the same size shocks front and back and lower maching costs.

Slide the bump stop gromet up the shaft tight to the seal do a lap and see where it ends up......then decide if reducing the travel is a good idea.

I think its a good idea, use front shocks on the back with a lowered tower. Will it work, we'll see, but inovation is what the hobby needs

Might work, would need to use completely different oil, pistons and spring rates to balance the car out, lots of mucking around with shock mounting holes, moving them further inboard to enable you to still get full travel at the wheel, i.e. making new mounting holes (possibly).

Might not be worth it.

tower soon finished. have a few shocks to try. maby i can get a pair of short durango shafts.

Here it is... picturers. with yokomo bmax4 bigbore shocks. I get full travel up down and ride level. at botom i can push wheel up 1mm from table. så now testing...

got the chance to test today, and it worked well. Did not have soft spring to test. shifted to standard tower and shocks and it was better. but with more testing with springs and piston im sure it will be close to original in performance.

i have now been driving this in my last two races, and i must say it works well. I have make it in carbon now. Will do this for the rest of the season. Tho the long chassi is on the way... will be interesting to test out.

I understand the sceptic responses out here, but if you have a fast, smooth track layout I don't see why this wouldn't work. Just keep in mind the Predator line of cars (just to name an example) go quickly with something resembling touring car shocks more than buggy shocks!

That said, I'd like to invite you to my club's track: It's in a rough, bumpy condition currently... I'm curious to see where it will and won't work (like with any car and setup, they are optimized for certain conditions and can't be best for anything you throw at it, it's just that some cars and setups for slightly more varying conditions, often at the cost of a little pace).

Perhaps you can let other people drive it/try it out as well, and/or make a video of it in action?
