Default rb5 mid carbon prototype

this is a mid conversion based on the MCS
chassis is 9mm longer.
cheap cutting but good enough for prototypes...
now i'm waiting for the alloy gearboxes and other pieces like motor plates...

now i can update the pieces to change some details :
-chassis design to fit perfectly the Vega body (but i'll try others before)
-battery strap (if the motor touch the right one when on the motor-plate+bigger holes)
-rear shocks tower to be used with or without arm holder (like MCS or like Vega)

....

good question!... we don't know!
but we think very good. like an C4.1?!
it's gonna be reversible (usable with the Kyosho gearbox/rear motor).
so, it seems that the first tests will be with the rear motor configuration.

this is some low-cost prototypes we'll run for tests in races, on different surfaces.
we're located in France, where are many dirty/bumpy tracks, often shared with/destructed by 1/8. that's why we do this longer chassis.
also, lighter than the MCS, reversible and cheaper for us.
60€/carbone kit.
it need few other pieces we're doing, step by step...
more pics when the rear motor configuration will be finished, or if the alloy gearbox is ready.

4.30 AM... time is going fast when you work with passion

the rear motor configuration, not finished.

long pack and T-saddle are able too.

the ESC is a fake (burnt), it's just to show one of the configuration.

first test on sleepy track (wet outdoor-carpet) with the rear motor configuration :
i can't believe how easy-to-drive it was!!
with the stock RB5 SP set-up (realy close)

the (old) body is a Proline for RB5 (vortex!?)

i love it

now, few days before the mid-gearbox, it's hard to wait sometime...

rear-motor dirt/dust tests :
we try it @ the older club in France.
this one (but dry today) :

it was very impressive, easy AND fast!
i can't wait for an indoor race to test the mid configuration! (but i will, till the gearbox is not ready, lol!)

next step : races...

bye!

hello,

two cars are running on the rear-motor configuration.
we have a race this week-end, so it's gonna be the first real test.
(I've made a race before but not prepared and totaly failed)
the Small alloy columns are under construction and i wait for an estimate of the carbon parts.
so the rear version will be soon available.

but...
it's "carpet time" and the first goal is a mid version.
I'm waiting for the mid-gearbox, I depend of the manufacturer(s).
the motor-plate is under construction.
i must also resolve the problem of small alloy parts (like back reinforcement supports)

i keep in touch...

is your test this weekend on a dirt track? hope it turns out very well for you. is the rear motor version going to have a long wheelbase design or will it be a normal kit wheelbase version?

keep updating us on your progress here.....

hello,

this week-end it's an indoor race with carpet track.
and some good drivers.
it's gonna be difficult with the rear motor and the long wheel base (yes, it did, for both rear and mid position : +9mm)
but we'll try to be not ridiculous.

i have the first motor-plate in my hands : 3mm/14g and fit well on the MCS.
and the carbon manufacturer is chosen. it will be made in U.K.

bye!
