"and will includes items such as the diff outdrives and bearings that are required for the newer AE cars..."
looks like it still uses the older imperial outdrives so B4.1 or gear diff wont fit? |

Judging from one of the previous posts it will still use B4 diff (as apparently the conversion kit includes outdrives for converting a B4.1/B4.2). |

This was kind of what I was thinking of yesterday. Based on the models of 4-40 screws I found in my CAD software it seems the holes of 4-40 screws might be quite tight to just put M3 ones in?

How much is a drill-bit 2.5mm?

I've never really understood why people care that much either way with metric v imperial. A set of drivers/screws is hardly the most expensive thing in our hobby.
Look forward to seeing the Cubed . |

Personally... Cos my head hurts when trying to think what size is a 4-40 or whatever cryptic thingy when I could just use "8mm" or "12mm" or whatever length screw.

@ChrisLong: A proper Cobalt drill bit costs some 2.50 euros at my local hardware store, that's not the issue... A setback however is that the drilled car is completely incompatible with 'stock' spares (This is the only thing I can complain about on my current 2WD - I can't buy parts at the trackside or borrow them because no-one here drives a TRF201).
All my other cars are metric (some 10 to 12 of them) - Keeping all hardware seperate just for one car is something I won't 'just' do - after all it's not like all metric competitors are junk I'll have enough time in the coming season to think about my car for 2014 though and the XF has been gradually moving into the list of cars I'd consider |

I get the feeling that you will see a shorter version of the SC carbon chassis. Many have said it would be too stiff,i`m not so sure,(thats why we have suspension!!)easier to tune suspension than wobbly chassis`s!!

If it is I hope it does have sidepods or something to give that tub-feel. A plate chassis however wouldn't be a bad thing: It allows relatively easy customizing of chassis rigidity, or a 'dirt' and 'carpet' top plate for example Whatever the case, XF has got me curious about this release!

X6 Cubed
Was privileged to see the cubed tonight although it wasn't being raced, looks a nice piece of kit :-) might just have to upgrade my squared.

The UpGrade Kit will be priced about $40 less than the Conversion. A good value for anyone who now has a Squared.

Soon, Lee, soon. We are starting to build the first U.S. car now, and within a few days they will be on their way to drivers all over the world. One in Belgium, one in Australia, and various points in between. You will see them at race tracks everywhere.

I understand Rich Lowe and Dan Greenwood both had excellent results with their Cubeds yesterday in an excellent field.
Testing continues to go well. |

Can you tell us what parts will be retained from a current X6 squared when converting to cubed as I'm currently preparing my car ready for the start of the season and I don't want to buy spares or replacement parts that won't be needed when I convert to cubed.
I'm just rebuilding my ball diffs, am I wasting my time/money/grease? Cheers Phil

I belive it was said that the whole tranny will remain unchanged hence why the update kit will be about $40 cheaper, and I think the rear arms will also go unchanged, so you should be fine rebuilding diffs and shocks

I was hoping the cubed was going to be a tubed chassis like the x6 I think I am going to stick with my x6 because I have had a few 2wd last year but never had one as good as the x6
