B44 thicker top decks?
I'm not a happy bunny after breaking the rear camber mount on the car today and its alot of carbon to buy for the sake of a little mount, so is there either a thicker top deck or a modified one with more material arround the link?
Ive also heard of a brace but Ive searched t'internet and not found anything . Not sure if its a weak spot but somebody at the same meeting broke the same mount .

a thicker top deck would hinder what little flexibility the car has, and turn it into a board
sorry, but the devil of running a cf car is that when it does break it's not cheap to fix |

Fibrelyte do a modified top deck for the rear of the B44.

I don't know how old your b44 is, but AE had this problem with the first batches of B44. They then later modified the top deck so there was more material around the hole strenghtening it. ANd most of the problems were solved. The current AE top decks are supposed to have this mod. I had bought a B44 in 2008 and it had these new topdecks (I never broke one despite many nasty hits and tumbles). Just food for thought. If yours is one of the first out, maybe just replacing the topdeck for a new one will suffice in settling the problem.

I got mine when they first came out and there's 2 problems with that batch.
They don't have captive wishbone pins so they don't stay in the metal brace so you break the bulkhead and they dig into the chassis. Crap top decks, I replaced mine with the Fibrelyte modified ones. Now I've got these sorted the car is mint. |

I have the thicker Atomic Carbon decks on one B44 and standard on another. I must say I can't tell any difference in car flexibility between the two, but a more experienced driver might.
