No it doesn't, if you have two or more cars, you just start another policy on zero no claims, one car will still have the ncb that you already have.
I went with Admiral three years ago when I got my Focus ST, had that, my 04 Mondeo, and my old tarted up 95 V6 Mondeo, cost not a lot different to do all three cars, then someone else wanted just for the ST, in fact, I think Admiral wanted only £10 more to do the ST with zero ncb, then Ford insure wanted with 10 years ncb! The 04 Mondeo has all of the ncb, the ST and the V6, I started from scratch, and are/were mileage limited. Still have the ST the 04 Mondeo with Admiral, the V6 went a while ago.

nobody could beat Adrian Flux for my m3 gt2 evo, in fact the closest quote was £265 more, I have a modified sierra rs cosworth 4x4 and the ford rs owners club is mint, protected no claims, agreed value, track cover,etc...but when it came to insure the m3 they couldn't match Adrian Flux.

Smart is ACE, not sure why I'd wanna ditch it? hence, in fact, not ditching it and keeping it as my main car! I'd hate to commute every day and go into town and park in ANYTHING ELSE.

Flux is ok until you crash, I used Brentacre for my 300bhp Nova (C20LET) very reasonable for engine conversions.

I worked in insurance for a couple of years and Flux like a lot of others are brokers, which basically mean they are the middle man for the actual insurers. Most brokers are ok but its NOT them that pays out.
Unless stated they probably put you directly in touch with the insurers to make the claim as their main job is to take the order and deal with simple cust service jobs like changing stuff etc etc. So the point of this is to say dont just say 'X insurers' are crap with a claim as it could have been one of tens of insurers they use like most brokers, find out who they used for you (you probably got a little booklet with your documents) i.e. Zurich, Norwich Union, Equity Red Star, Fortis etc and then post, as they are the real culprits for when you have issues making a claim and you know who to stay clear of. The other side to this is you go directly through the insurer and then thats pretty straight forward. So back to finding someone for Jimmy to get a quote from.... I think 'Adrian Flux' are good 'priced' brokers (if they want to deal with you), also try 'Premium Choice' who i used for my Impreza Turbo 2000 - best service i've ever had and did everything to keep me the following year which is what you want aswell. They were by far the cheapest and obviously I knew where to look. Also as has been said check out the aggregator sites like Confused, Money Supermarket and Compare The Market. It'll give you at least a base price to work from that you can go back to. HTH....

True true, it was actually Equity Red Star that was the best quote from Adrian Flux. Thanks for the info there Matt, and of course everyone else. I'm making notes and will see if the quote from Flux can be beat - I'm not that bad a driver honest

That is of course if mr Adrian Flux botherd to get you insured with the insurer, rather that just keeping the money and waiting to see if you needed to claim before getting a policy. This was many years ago but still worth mensioning.

I wouldn't touch flux again if they paid me. I had no issues with them sorting out a none fault claim 9 years or so ago but a couple of years ago they disputed NCB and I had various issues over data protection (they sent me several other peoples paperwork, bank details etc). Their customer couldn't care less team were shocking.
With sports cars and anything else a bit specialist I wouldn't bother with confused.com etc they don't search the specialists and I've always found them to be quite expensive. I have two cars, an 06 impreza wrx and a classic mini. The impreza has been insured with greenlight and I couldn't fault them, I have been through none fault and fault claims (2007 was a bad year) both times I got everything sorted and the my car repaired by who I wanted. The only others that have got anywhere near them are A plan. The impreza is standard apart from coilovers and I pay about £500, 9 yrs NCB, business mileage and 2 accidents in the last 5 years. Greenlight actually prefer modified cars as they see it as if you've gone to the effort to sink more money into the car and make it more desirable then you're probably going to look after it a bit more than a run of the mill dirt box. The mini is insured via Footman James, I haven't been through a claim with them but I get breakdown cover, unlimited mileage, declared mods for £100. They weren't interested in NCB but did give me a discount for being a member of an online mini forum as they classify it as being in a club. I've heard good things about Keith Michaels too but they've never been competitive enough for me. www.greenlightinsurance.co.uk/ www.aplan.co.uk/ www.keithmichaels.co.uk/

My son got a multi car policy with Admiral. He,s just got his first car a MR2 GTS TURBO grp 20. He,s 22, They charged him £1097 f/comp, really good considering a 1.6 focus would have been £750+
Because we have more than one car they only charged me £231 f/comp. My renewal from zuric was £408 My daughters renenewal was £778 but with Admiral only £291 f/c All the above come with a full breakdown service 4 callouts a year and 2 homestarts. I could,nt beat those prices anywhere. 0800600880 even free to get a qoute.
