Something new not out yet, that's all I know. Not sure if it's a new shell for the 501X or a new shell for a new car yet.

Does Hupo use the arm modification just on the front, or front and rear?

I saw the pics.

I think Hupo is running a version of the J concept body or Tamiya version of J Concept body. The person who is running the Baldre body is Cedric.

If Tamiya ever consider making a shaft driven 501x class buggy is because the BJ4x4/B44 are so successful plus Tamiya has history with shaft driven cars so transitioning from one to another is not so drastic (compared to from TB EVOII to 414M/M2 with TA03 as the excuse ).

Pretty sure it is the normal yellows, #65, and I think he also cuts them down!

I think I wrote about the CVD's in the worlds report - so I don't remember their exact reason for this change, but its about performance.

Hi. So the Baldre shell will fit the 501x and line up with the under tray with a little modification? Like Cedric's? Our LHS only has the Bladre in stock and I'm in a bit of a hurry getting a new shell Thanks!

Yep
According to Tam USA, the improvement is because they work more efficiently at a wider range of suspension angles.

You need to use different front steering uprights (included in the pack), so to carry spare front uprights also buy 54131!

The 0.5 rear hubs was prototypes from TRF, but you could use Rayspeed 0.5 hubs for yokomo car, they are available but may-be difficult to find !
Hupo use 6.5 motor with 23 tooth pinion and 86 tooth spur gear ! (around 8.5 gear ratio )
The slipper plate from the Losi looks to fit a bigger diameter than the original TRF and fit perfectly the Losi pad
I've been looking for the Rayspeed 0,5 rear hubs for yokomo to fit my 501x but the only one i can find is the Rayspeed 0,5 rear b4 hub rayspeed rs-28. Is this the right part Deuv are talking about?

Thanks
Dennis

I'll probably end up getting the new hotbodies 2wd D2, and run it until tamiya makes one, anyone else think that 2wd looks cool?

All I know is the 501x is one tough car, raced it for the first time last weekend and didnt break anything but the wing. It's one balllistic beast with that tekin 3T motor I chose. I was able to clear the tripple many times.
It so fast my steering servo cant keep up with it...lol. Probably just needs adjustment.
Steering EPA or whatever. I had a little too much toe in also, so I'll need to fix that also.
40wt oil in front, 35WT in rear seemed about right.

I'll probably look into Hupo's setup, to get the car more dialed in.

I was just about to buy an XXX-CR to take care of my nagging lust for a 2WD buggy, but now I'm just a little too curious to buy one just yet..

has anyone been following the redesigned Dynastorm thread on Tamiyaclub? Some engineers have been creating a really tasty looking conversion kit for the car alot like the Trf202x prototypes.

not quite, the guy is taking the weaknesses and updating the car to make it competitive. Its not any different to what 'real' manufacturers do when they upgrade their cars. He is also redesigning the layout etc.

As to the TRF car, its quite old (The dynastorm was the production version of this car) here is a link

http://www.rcfan.net/trf211x/index.html

it was the 211 and 212 .

Sorry for the comment,

I thought that we were going somewhere else with it!

As for the TRF212X, I must have been on the moon at this time, was unaware that the Dyna Storm became the production kit!

Many thanks for filling in the blanks.
