Rear shocks on front of wishbones
Going to try this on my 3.0. What will it change in handling and do I need to modify anything .. Jon

You won't be able to do it unless you have a laydown gearbox, also you will need to flip the rear arms and put around 10mm of spacers between the top of the shock and the shock tower itself to line the shocks up straight.

Thanks for that,I'll try it on my lay down as that's my dry car,struggling with rear grip on both cars because I ain't using new darts every 2 races ,that's my rant about tyres this year...

I have a 3.0 laydown car and one of the previous owners has drilled a hole in the front of the wishbone. You will also need to space the top shock mounts forward a bit.
Might be easier just buying some 4.0 wishbones as these already have the holes both front and back. Moving the shocks forward will move the weight forward towards the centre of the car. This will provide slightly less rear grip. Good luck. |

I find that there is more pendulum effect when I run shocks on the rear. Typically, I prefer shocks on the front but it is a personal thing. You’ll probably need to reduce the droop too as the shocks are effectively mounted higher on the wishbone vs rear due to the anti squat (the front of the wishbone is higher than the rear).
I never run rear mounted shocks on the back of the 22 4.0, always front. HTH |
