I sent off the entries today- bit late I know, this being christmas and all that.. not 100% sure they will get there before the week deadline, anyone I should 'inform' or give my entry details prior to the mailed entry actually turning up, just in case?

anyone got a spare 370 size motor I can borrow this weekend? one of the reasonably quick Tamiya black motors would be ideal.. I have one - but can't find it. It's for vickys GB02 tamiya mini frog. Its got the kit motor in it at the moment which is very very slow.

edit: oops, never mind! found it

Great write-up and photos
One thing though, Lipos WERE allowed in Modified & Modified only

oops, you are of course correct, I had it in my head from last time (the micro challenge thing) where I think they were banned? oops, I shall change that.

Yup your right, the previous Micro events have been Nihm only but this national series Lipos have been allowed in Modified, in the near future we may be seeing Lipos in pro-stock too

Is there much point having 2 classes or are the brushless still faster?

Brushed has actually been FASTER at every micro event as far as i remember, but that may be because generally the faster drivers are racing in Brushed (Craig, Stephan Davis etc). Also Cris Oxley has just won Modified running a BRUSHED motor & Lipos. The reason they arn't mixed is because by separating allows development in the Brushless technology & its a bit of a different driving style!

At the moment Brushed is actually allowed in Modified but in the near future it should be changing to Brushless only due to the facts stated. In the near future hopefully the classes wont be called 'Pro stock' and 'Modified' - It will just be Brushed & Brushless to stop the confusion & the current names arn't very accurate. Also Lipos will hopefully be allowed in both classes, this is all early days at the moment so we will have to wait and see But hopefully the 2 classes will be -

Brushed - 4WD - Nihms/Lipos
Brushless - 4WD - Nihms/Lipos
2WD - Brushed/Brushless - Nihm/Lipo

The reason that 2WD will be mixed is because its very early days for the 2WD being a separate class so by having a separate class further still for Brushed and Brushless would be diluting the class too soon.

Hope that makes sense
