Thanks for the info.

I've got a set of white five spoke wheels that are tidy so I may keep them on just get new tyres, though I do like the look of the original 'solid disc' type wheel so may get some in a bit. Though I may get them so I have options.

I was thinking maybe having a look for a cheap set of shocks and taking the collars off them as long as they would fit and just overhauling the original shocks.

When I got the car it already had a carbon front shock mount and the rear is an aluminium type one and have seen the fibe lite website and been tempted by a carbon rear mount. I'll keep you posted.

I think I may get the shell and undertray from ebay as I kinda want to keep it looking fairly stock and I'm really just a novice, though I do like to tinker. Though the kamtec ones do sound like they are good quality.

I've also seen the ZX-S bearing kits on ebay so may be tempted by one of them too, the diffs are a bit notchy, is that normal?

Isobarik, I'll let you know the shock lengths, will measure them tomorrow.

I'll take some pics, so you guys can see what you think too.

Iso,

Tonight i will post it

Nick,

Get rid of the alloy shock tower as it bends like playdo. Get a fibre lyte one asap. Id also recommend a stronger front mount as well unless you already have it.

I use associated shock collars and spring clamps as well as springs so may be an idea for you.
Also the ZXS bearings may be a good option as the hubs, layshaft and gearbox bearings are a match luckily so buy them. The zxs tho is a totally different car.

Yes, I think zx-s & zx-s evo is different with zx-r,extremely rare and hard to get one.I try for serval year finally got a zx-s and a zx-s evo have assemblied。my friend has a prototype zx-s made by atlas, the front shock tower not as the kyosho made。

Ive a couple of proto evo's as well, one unused, one being used a lot but with new added mods such as rear brass gearbox bottoms, brass rear top deck mount, reinforced front gearbox molds as the original gearbox casing is fragile big time., new chassis and top deck design to work around lipos, and a lipo tray.

The front shock tower your on about is possibly Kyosho but for the protos only hence why you cant find it.

Most bearings from the ZXS fit but is a cheaper alternative than buying the ZXR set from Kyosho.

Smile 3racing shocks

Ha den Olivier,

tis in den engels hé anders verstaat niemand het.

if i was you i wouldn't use the 3racing shocks,

instead go for Team losi, or associated or Equalizer shocks from kyosho or BIg bore shocks like Ansmann racing have for there latest buggy's or if you could allready find the shocks of the team losi racing TLR 22 also big bore type.

i have shocks from 3racing for a kyosho mini inferno and they are not that good, they are OK but there are better shock for competion purpose.

Default Shocks for the lazer zx-RR

Hey OLi,

you could also use the velvet coated shocks that are on the competition kyosho lazer ZX-5 (SP) (FS) versions, if i remember and if i'm not wrong they can be found on amainhobbies.com or towerhobbies.com both from the USA

i have allready ordered stuff from amainhobbies hobbyshop and they ship fast and well packaged.

and they have plenty off stuff.

anders mailt ge maar en ik zal ook wel eens zoeken dan,

groetjes,

Ken

As the guys said, and I didn't so my apologies. 3 Racing shocks are ok and worth buying due to the cheapness but if you want to really go one better yes Associated (simple to use and set up), Kyosho Velvet (some of the worlds elite say these are superb shocks) or Losi. A lot of people tend to go Associated but its really up to you.

Default shocks

Hi Guys, Many thanks for your input, but do you have specific partnumbers or modelnumbers from all those different shocks? Apperently there are a lot of models and to be honest with you, I don't have a clue wich models of shocks are a straight fit with the lazer zx-rr
Cheers

I use associated B4 shocks on my Lazer ZX-S and fit onto the ZXR without any problems. Losi im unsure on and the Kyosho Lazer ZX-5 4wd velvet shocks are a direct fit.

I mounted the Hotbodies alu threaded shocks from the D4WCE and the where a direct fit. front shock was 1,5mm shorter than the original gold ones and rear 2mm. adjusted this with the shock end, so they are the same length as the original ones. also used the D4 springs. But have bought the green and pink losi spirings.
