We built a kit today for a customer, and it was a superb build.
Awesome quality, took no time at all. (Couple of button heads missing from one step, but no big deal!) Thumbs up guys, a VERY nice release. |

Ran the sx3 with the boca bearings...unfortunately no difference, they still got dirt in them. my advice is stick to the stock bearings and save your money.

diff outdrives, they are different, is the black of a more durable material?
will the sx2 diffs fit in the sx3, even though they are different? Just easier to swap over during a meet rather than a rebuild. |

Yes. We've run them in Andy's car.

Just started the build. Got the center spur assembly done and it rotates freely but when the center belt is attached to the pulleys in the next step, the transmission seems to be a bit rough when rotating. Is this normal or is there something I can do to free it up?
Its definitely not the center assembly binding as I made sure when I installed it that it moved freely but as soon as the center belt was installed the rest of the pulleys it felt rough. Thanks for the feedback in advance guys.

We got the kit at noon and raced it at 6.00pm. To save time, I transferred the front and rear assemlies including the diffs from SX2 to SX3.

Everytime I tightened down the ally bulk head the pulley shaft wouldnt roll free...So I just took everything apart and redid the whole step and now it runs smooth...who knows lol it was awkward but its like butter now. Just waitin on some diff grease and molly grease to continue the build. Very nice build so far Im really impressed.

Ya but I needed some grease on hand for diff rebuilds etc...Got the whole rear belt and diff assembled now...Whats the remedy for the clicking noise when rotating the rear belt and diff? Some one said something about a spacer somewhere but where exactly?

Tried that and still clicking...I actually took off the aluminum center bulk piece attached to the steel gears and added one shim between the spacer on the lay shaft and the pulley...that stopped the play the pulley had which was causing the click...reassembled and seems better now but havent run it yet. That center pulley had too much play on the layshaft and the only way to eliminate it is to get in there and stop it from moving. A friend solved this by gluing the center pulley to the lay shaft but I dont want to do that, seems like a pain later on to remove.
