Speed Passion ESC timing settings etc.
How much punch and timing do people generally run on the Speed Passion LPF / GT ESCs?

7 punch and 8 timing. haven't touched mine for months and I use 5.5, 6.5 and 7.5 motors which I think work well lol
Slipper tends to no un-noticed outdoors, but on carpet it can be heard off the line and sometimes out of hairpins |

I toned mine down when I was trying to slow the car down for a small indoors track and didn't really think it changed much

I heard more timing advance = more heat = less power.
It may be more worthwile doing timing advance if you running in cold weather as this would help with the cooling of the electrics |

Timing advance gives more power and more rpm and at the expense of torque and heat. In off-road modified there is no need to worry about timing advance. Just set the ESC to default settings (205g is still the recommended software for off-road modified from Speed Passion), and leave the V3 motor timing in the middle of the slot. Then gear it and run it. If you need more power, run more motor. You can do a few small tweaks to the programming (drag brake, punch, electronic timing) to make it feel better for you, but don't go crazy. The "supercharger" software is only for stock class where people try and get the maximum out of a limited motor, but the downside is poor throttle feel and confusing adjustments. |

lpf 2.0
Just a quick question, is the lpf 2.0 any good for a 10.5t motor or do i need some sort of stock spec speedo??

You can load any software you choose onto the LPF 2.0. It should run a 10.5 with any settings.

Thanks, its just that ive brought one ready to put in my car & then somebody has told me that the lpf 2.0 is more suited to running with a modified motor & not a 10.5t, they say i'd be better off with a stock spec speedo?? just wanted another opinion..

205g still recommended? Thought there was a newer version for mod which is on my GT.
May flash it to 205g then. http://www.speedpassion.net/en/escsetup.asp |

LPF GT 2.0
Has anybody used an lpf gt2.0 with a 10.5 turn (GM in paticular) on a small tight carpeted indoor track?
How did it run & what settings did you use? I have not brought the motor yet but GM has been recomended by a few people & I was just wondering how well it would go with the lpf gt2.0.. Any advise much apreciated.. |
