Open ITUNES
Select <EDIT>
Select <preferences>
Select <Advanced Tab>
Change to your new directory.

I can't seem to add all the files at once, it just seems to only won't to let me choose individual album folders.

Do i have to do them all seperatly?

you shouldn't hadd the folders indicidually. Under file you can add folder. Point to the root of the directory tree you wish to add and that will suffice.

When I do what has been said, I then go to the iTunes folder, this has sub folders of iTunes Music, mobile applications etc. When I go into iTunes music it had individual files for each album I had

The easiest way to resolve that is to delete (or rename) your itunes library file which can be found in the itunes music folder in my documents/music. Once you have deleted that, re-open itunes and the music field should be blank. Then go to file and add folder to tell itunes where the music is.

on Windows, it is an .xml file. Delete this, re-import your music, and it will sort it all out for you.

I've just started playing around with itunes this last week or so, as my phone is due this week. It doesn't exactly seem like a great piece of software

If it's on a PC, then the hardware and operating system don't escape scot free from that assessment, Matt! iTunes on a Mac is one of the most intuitive, helpful and stable applications anywhere.

If you download all your music, it might be better to do that via the 'phone, and then just use the Pc as a back-up. HTH
