They're real easy to get out.
Tap the outdrive till it hits the 'e' clip.

Then tap the diff case against a flat surface i.e. table...

This is how I get mine out... I've only done it once as I forgot to put a 'seal' in my diff.

one of the housing side geard popped off pretty easy, the other took a lot more force. only ended up slightly bending the eclip before it popped off.

pretty good result.

I have new x rings soaking in diff oil and will install and see how I go this time

One of my gears came right out of the diff case like Adam said. The other one is stuck and wont come out no matter how hard I "tap" it on the table.

Any suggestions???

Place the diff in a vice so the jaws are supporting the diff case and that the output drive cup is facing downwards. Get a small driver that fits in the hole of the gear and gently tap the screw driver handle with a hammer. The e-clip behind the gear should be able to move against the x seal enough to release the bevel gear. Double check the bevel gear to make sure that it has not cracked. If the bevel gear still does not come off maybe use a soldering iron (25-40W) to gently heat the gear (make sure not enough to start to melt the diff case) and then tape the case hard on a table and see if if then comes off.

I´ve tried your hints for sealing the diff! But no good results! I´ve tried high speed grease to seal off the outdrives; double X-ring ( as a short test); new diff housings! I don´t get them sealed! Use in front 5000 ande ind the rear 2000 oil! Any suggestions?

how much oil are you putting in? should be no higher that the cross shaft, too much oil will force its own way out

Anyone know if it is right that in the diff housing side of the diff, the gear sides on and off of the outdrive relatively easy with no tapping or force? once its on, there seems to be a fair amount of play where i can move the outdrive in and out of the diff housing which i dont think can be right.

Thanks

They are ment to be an interference fit....does the gear just slip onto the out drive? if so you need another one ( gear or outdrive?) do all the others work correctly?

wasn't sure about this to be honest as the gear seemed slip easily to front and back outdrives on the diff housing side so i assumed it was normal. Front doesnt seem to leak other than a little seepage but the rear seems to leak more

My crown wheels went on tight when new - after a rebuild they just slide on now the cars been run a bit. Diffs dont leak anymore - make sure you put loads of grease on the x seals and only fill the diff just to the top of the metal shafts, i was overfilling them to start with.
Im running 6000wt rear 12500wt front, i would expect the chance of leaking more with lighter weight oil.

Hold the housing in ye hand

take a hex driver n hold it on hex end of drive shaft

Then wack it wit sharp taps using say some heavy pliers

It will knock through easy enough

may bend/destroy the eclip and spacer washer
so get some spares ready!
