Default Lrp shark set up

Hi all,

Looking for a base line setup for my normal wheelbase shark for the first round at the national (booking in tonight!). I have all varieties of spring and roll bars, needing info for a baseline set up, oils, springs, roll bars, locations - the lot!

Many thanks!

4 hole std pistons, 50wt oil green springs (may need to cut fronts to get front ride height right)...

Outer, upper holes on std towers, middle hole upper row on std tower, outer on wishbones.

Caster spacer at front on SWB shark.

White roll bars all round, maybe a thinner one on rear if you need less steering (i preferred it lik this).

Driveshafts level ride height, maybe a little higher if bumpy etc...

Yellow rally blocks...

Is that the same green 50 weight front and rear?

Should the car feel stiff or soft on the table? Just so I know it's roughly right before the national where I can hopefully get extra advice if needed, best to start on the right foot rather than no where near it!

Yeah 50wt all round, green springs all round, 4 hole pistons as well.

Have you got the std front tower, or a fergal? The fergal front tower only jas two holes, and is 3mm thick.

Hope this helps. You will probably end up getting the lwb chassis and propshaft, since it makes the car really stable.

My setup from when I won the national series with the std wheelbase shark in 2008/9;

Take car out of box
Tighten up the diffs
Remove the rear anti-roll bar
Fit a frogger front shock tower
Fit some suitable tyres (foams back then, rallyblocks now)
Fit a buggy shell
Install some electrics
Go racing!

When I could be arsed to rebuild the shocks, it was usually 40wt oil with the pistons etc... that came with the car.

Cheers both of you!
I ran the car last week as it arrived from the postie, however as it was second hand I'm not sure if it was thrown together with anything or the way it's ment to be.

The towers I think are the standard ones but in aluminium, shall just give it a rebuild and do as suggested!

you'll find loads of setup info for the big bores on the above thread.

however, i was running 30wt ae oil all round, green losi mini lst springs to the front, silver mini-lst springs at the rear.
ride height level al round, no roll bars.

the losi springs are more progressive that the 3 racing ones and last i saw were available pretty cheap on jespares.
