Default New speedo advice please

I want a speedo for my 2wd to power my 8.5 motor but I fancy trying one with timing advance / turbo or whatever it's called. Any advice?

Speed passion would be better if it wasn't an overpriced rebadged hobbywing :-p
Visit racersinexile website, order an hobbywing extreme stock esc for £70(full uk warranty and support) runs my losi 22 with a 6.5 just fine and mild boost at talywain Sunday just fine ;-)

If I look hard enough, I could loan you a Tekin to try for a meeting, but running a sensored motor in that mode makes the power feel 'odd'.

I have never felt the need to use it on my speed passion gear, but did try it on the Novak stuff I had and it made a huge power boost at not a very high setting. Kinetic worked well with boost

You can set boost with the set button, but fear not i have a program box which has the function to set all the boost and static timing settings!
I'll bring the laptop aswell friday and we can update firmware if you like to a mod motor firmware rather than a stock firmware as the stock firmware on a 10.5/13.5 are fast enough let alone your 8.5 lol,you can lend the program box whilst u have a play

I'll also email you the laptop software

When my Speed Passion blew up I though the world had ended as I loved it so much.

Then I found Orca!, love the speedo and recently got a motor by Orca too very pleased with both, feels a lot smoother than the SP.

Having tried Novak, LRP, SP and then Tekin I have now switched to Orca..

Dont think I will ever buy anything else, so smooth and super progressive brakes, plus they run really cool...

Orca are also produced by hobbywing
They are just newer internals and firmware compared to the speed passion (presuming you had a 2.0gt or lpf)everytime they do new firmware the power delivery gets smoother

I've just started using a viper vtx10 works beautifully and easily programable. I think it knocks spots off the tekin I had before

I have an Orca Vritra, and find it to be superb. It's real smooth and no probs so far. You also get the program card with the esc, which makes life easier, and can now update the firmware/software online with the USB link.
I can see that the cheaper Orca Q range is made by Hobbywing as the cases look the same. But the Vritra units are quite different, with the battery and motor wire posts opposite each other unlike other esc's, so not really sure how it can be a re-badged hobby wing? Maybe it is built by hobbywing, but to Orca's spec. But then does it really make it a HW esc? I think not.
