New to losi 22

Just finished building my losi to mid motor(tried rear to compare to last car,good but want better) and after reading loads of set ups and scratching my head it sounds like the car has several spindle and caster options available.Having never had a car with these (last car was a mad rat)options before just wondering what the kit set up is on spindles and caster and what happens to the handling when they are changed.Please don't go all technical on me as i only change tyres and the occasional spring on race day.All i want to know is if i change that what does it do as with most of the decisions i make will it do what i think it does,mostly not..Also got weight kit and black springs on front.My rules are KISS(keep it simple stupid)and be happy.

In general once i've found a set up where the ends don't swop over in corners i just change tyres and drive the damm thing.

Only been doing this hobby 30 years and still none the wiser on chassis tweaking.

Basically -- changing from the kit (2-degree) trailing spindles to the optional "inline" spindles makes the steering react quicker (a bit too snappy for most people), while changing to the other optional (4-degree) trailing spindles calms the steering down even more.

As far as caster block changes (stock is 10-degrees) - the more degrees of caster you run the less low speed steering you'll have, but the more stable it will be at high speeds.

Ok 1st thing get a cream weight in it. Scrap the rear end weight kit. Run pink rear spring ,30 weight, blue spring 25 weight front . 20 degree kick brass shim front, 5 degree castor. 19 mm ride height or 20 right round .scrap the ball diff shove in a gear diff . Hrc 3.5 degree rear . Then setup as per bloomers Area 51 . She will turn in real sharp and stick , fast in slow out .

Thanks for the quick reply guys,will look at 5 degree caster blocks to calm down steering but will run as standard mid first,thanks for the info Robby.

Darren doesn't run a gear diff, all the top drivers run ball diffs!

A gear diff works well and is a lot less maintenance but not the easiest/fastest to drive

I never said he did I said use his setup ie wheel alighnment checks

And not all top drivers run ball diff
