Default Yokomo prototype announced for 52nd Shizuoka Hobby Show

On Team Yokomo's official blog on the Shizuoka Hobby Show preparation , Mishima-san mentioned that a "protoype machine" would be on show. What do you think we will get to see next week?

As the BD-7 and B-Max2MR are quite new and we've got an electric off-road world this year, I would not be surprised to see a new 4WD buggy. On the other hand, a B-Max2-based truck would also be welcome.

BMAX4 WN was released in autumn. I think it's too early for a 4wd. Maybe a SC based on MR.

I think it's got to be a new 4wd buggy. B-max4 is getting long in the tooth now.

Dont think it will be SC. Look how long it took them to bring out a 2wd.

I will no doubt be so wrong tho......

With the worlds around the corner, I was thinking a carbon fibre BMax4 also. If they do do a new 4wd, will the old car be upgradable or will it be a totally new car. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

I hope so. Similar to the BX but shaft driven.

It always takes some time from prototype stage to finished product. IIRC the original B-Max2 was shown on a hobby show in spring and finally released in autumn. As Yokomo seems to bring out updates of their cars every year, a new 4wd would be right on schedule and, if Naoto gets it right, could be released with a fancy world champion sticker in autumn. Merry Christmas everyone!

I like BX a lot more than B-Max4........actually I am looking forward to seeing a new carbon fibre 4wd instead of composite tub one......

I've been told that they are working on a new 4wd buggy for the World Championships at the end of the year.

Even so I wouldn't turn my nose up at a BMax4, they look stunning. It may be my car of choice for next year.

I really like the idea of an shaftdriven bx. But belt is preferred so ill keep looking
For a mr4bx. The B-Max is great car but i cant stand its butt-ugly look. Awful

I've seen some pics on Google of what looks to be a Bmax4 with carbon shock towers front and rear. It may be prototype development parts for the new car.

Have you got any link to the pics?
Japanese cars tend not to use carbon fibre that much, I hope they stick with the plastic they use, it's strong as hell

The pics should be in the redrc (?) cactus classic report. I heard that Naoto used an aluminum chassis there on his 2WD.

...and several others! Aside from the aluminum chassis nothing I really expected, but several small things I really hoped for. Excellent!

After the Cactus pictures we saw evidence of the chassis and gossiped about the possibility. Now its official an aluminium chassis for the B Max2, possibly the best upgrade you could hope for on our high grip tracks

Loving the other upgrades as well, nice to see Yokomo serious again with the R & D for off road racers
