Default Schumacher Cat SX2 - report

I've been hearing a lot about people wanting to know what the Cat SX2 is like, so, start off with, it's a great well planted buggy, has some seriously good steering and suspension setups. I would/have taken a few upgrades to make it even better, such as the diff eccentrics. Belt driven is good, very quiet but belts need replacing when they start to fray badly, it takes a very long time for them to get that bad, also great adjustments/tuning avalible on the Cat, makes it easier to customise to certain tracks or surfaces. Wanted to point out that it uses regular stick lipos! Many of the other race competitive cars use the saddle packs, but I've found no problems with the stick packs as long as they are thinner than 24mm. The dirt-pan/undertray works a dream, keeps everything clean and neat! The Pro CF would be the choice if I were to say what to buy, simply because it's Carbon Fibre, stronger and lighter than Titanium. What lipos fit? I use some amazing 5000mah 45c 2s Zippy Lipos from Hobbking, such a bargain and have great power and run times, fit nice at 19mm. Ball diffs need rebuilding every 15-25 races, they only need a clean and a re grease. Shock towers and firm and very thick. Overall very good buggy!

The only problem Ive got is gearing it. I use a 82t spur with a 9t motor 2s 5000mah lipos. So I'm not sure what pinion to use? I don't want it to get hot, but start to cog, and have some good speed any ideas?

You can buy it. And just I've heard people asking about it. I've driven a cat and I still think the sx2 is better.

Schumachers current cars

Schumachers vintage cars (old cars out of production inc cat sx and sx2)

Very, very, very well said Andrew

He seems to spend his whole time on here antagonising, belittling or trying to prove wrong every post that gets written.

Why not try and write a few positive comments for once?

Default Great Thread

Josh, i thought your review on the SX2 was great, i'm a newcomer who wants to get into RC Racing and off the back of your review purchased a SX2 Pro on Ebay with a load of Kit with so I can get started straight away!; If i dont like it then I've not blown a fortune and If i do like it I can choose to upgrade if i wish!

SX2 is still great car and for some guys maybe even faster than SX3 - it's very driving style dependent. For most SX3 seems to be best car as it's much calmer and easier to drive than SX2.
