Hi,

Can someone tell me the ordering number of the slipper shaft, which is required for fitting the hydra on a xxx cr?

Thanks

If memory serves, the xxxcr shaft is about 2mm too short to pass all the whole way through the hyrdadrive, but this doesn't seem to be too much of a problem. You'll just need a longer set screw in the end of the shaft to be able to attach the thrust race and spring etc.

I tried the hydradrive on my old CR2 and didn't really find it much of an advantage - probably more useful on a rear motor car. However the flywheel effect you get from it is really interesting, it seamed to improve how the front of the car rolled and gripped.

I must admit, when I tried my hydradrive on my CR2, I just undid the screw a bit further to take it into account. It seemed to work ok...

Legacy, can I ask you if you were running the 'std' AC gearbox (with the external idler) or the internal 4 gearbox? Interesting comments about the flywheel effect... I know on the X6 gearbox, the flywheel effect is supposed to to counteract the motor rotation and so smooth out the front rear weight transfer with power(which is why they sell a bigger brass slipper plate), but I think with the external idler, the flywheel effect is 'with' the motor, so the motor torque is accentuated... Does this make it 'worse'? It'll be interesting to find out which gearbox you've got...

Thanks...

I was using the 3 gear setup with idler

Ah thanks... so you 'liked' the increase in weight transfer power on and off? -interesting.. I might have to give it another go...
