As far as I can tell there are no rules, just a gentlemans agreement that we will use as few mods as possible, though I haven't fully investigated this. I run mine 100% out of the box, oils, springs, anti squat, camber, toe, shock locations, wheels, tyres, inserts, etc. etc. only thing I have done is add an alloy front hinge pin brace to stop snappage of the front bulkhead.
