Default RC10 ReRelease - Extra Bling Build

I thought I'd post a build log of my current build. *It will be fully operational but probably won't see a track.
Its the 2013 re release of the legendary Gold Pan RC10. *As a kid I always wanted one but couldn't afford one, so when AE announced that they were re releasing it went top of the shopping list.

I have now found the time to actually start building it even tho I have had it since Xmas.
In the meantime I found an excellent manufacturer of aftermarket bling for the RC10 classic DHawk racing who do a full set of alloy upgrade parts in the same anodised gold as the original pan.

Parts were duly ordered along with a set of alloy shock clamps and some rather tasty CNC machined alloy wheels.

Anyways first few stages have been completed:

Can Anyone spot the deliberate mistake?

Ball studs on caster blocks.

I'm not really convinced by all the gold cnc alloy bits. Prefer the original plastic tbh. Good if you are making a show car I guess?
I've built mine to race in York 540 class and the oople series.

I know what you mean... The ally parts do add more weight. This is more an exercise is making a smart looking model for the shelf.
I already have an rc10 graphite for racing.
One thing I would suggest tho would be the alloy steering bits.... They are ball raced and do seem to give the steering a more direct feel with less slop. I have them fitted to my graphite and they make a noticeable difference.

These are the alloy wheels I bought but then found out they are for more modern tyres... If anyone fancies them drop me a PM

Not much more has been done as I threadlocked the ball studs into the c arms and snapped them trying to get them out.
A mate is currently sorting this out for me

Ha ha I did the same but snapped 2 stainless screws in my MMS alloy gearbox and had to get the slot drilled out
I was never really into the rc10 but there starting to grow on me and I'm getting very tempted. Are they worth it?

Finally got the parts back from my mate who said "I'll get them done when I have 5 mins" back in June. So now building can continue.
While I was waiting I haven't been idle.
I sold on the wheels in the photos as they were for the more modern 2.2" tyres and it detracted from the look I was trying to acheive. New 3 piece alloys have been sourced, pics to follow

Bodyshell as been painted trimmed and stickered.

Some of the more eagle eyed among you will notice that its not a re-re shell, it's actually a genuine shell from the 80's
Not sure that I am happy with it tho. I think maybe I will use re-re shell and go for box art with a bit of bling.... a candy or metallic orange perhaps, just to compliment the extra bling in the chassis.

Does anyone know if there was ever a set of alloy suspension arms made for the 10 classic?

Almost there:

Dhawk racing have release gold anodised alloy arms.... but only for the worlds, which are wider.
Still they look good.... just means I now need some worlds Turnbuckles

Electrics need final fitting and I need a shorty Lipo so I can move the battery holder back and fit the servo

Just need to now find some alloy knock offs and I'm done!
