the original xxx4 was plastic but i think most of the plastic parts were phased when the graphite edition was released. Losi Graphite moulded parts are very expensive, one reason i got rid of my old xxx4.

DMS racing is the best place to get Losi (and most other things in the UK), usually get things the next day. I can't help you out with any bits I've long since sold mine. Gary I do agree though, in air handling was really good, probably because the chassis is so large and flat.

Saying the car is 'not good' outdoors is relative, how is it set-up, who are you competing against and what is your ability like?

I have won numerous races outdoors at my local club with a XXX-4 and indoors too!

But give Ellis Stafford a XXX-4 and you race a XX-4 and I wonder who'd win outdoors?? Know what I mean?

The XX-4 and XXX-4 are totally different cars it's like wanting to put a Ferrari bumper onto a ford fiesta, can't be done - well I'll rephrase that, there's no point in doing it (incase there's any boy racers on here!)

Stampy...

For starters you said you didn't like belt-drive. Now you want to swap to a XX-4 chassis?

You do know you CANNOT run stick-lipos in a Losi XX-4?

Just for clarity, he is getting a XXX-4 roller not a XX-4 in any way shape or form - I know because I am the guy he has bought it from

If he wants to get a dremel/hacksaw out and try to fit a XX-4 chassis then I wish him the best of luck but that'll fit better into the 'I made this' section of oOple

Stampy..

Seriously if you have ordered the XXX4 stick with it for a season at least. Learn how to race etc. Beginners regardless what car they are running (b44, XX4, XXX4 etc.) still have to learn the ropes.

Download the manual from the Team Losi site and read it. Then read it again. Then when you get the car read it again with the car in front of you.

Get the things you need for this car, i.e. ESC, radio gear, batteries and the motor. Build it SLOWLY taking your time.

Whatever YOU do STICK with this car. The best way to get the best out of a car is to stick with it and not chop and change!

DO NOT customise bits and mix bits from other cars. Whilst you are learning about this car keep it 100% original (obviously geniune hop ups etc..)

Then this is the most important step. Take it to a track near you, listen, learn, race and enjoy. Obviously you'll break something so that'll fit somewhere between the race and enjoy bit...

I was aware Stampy was purchasing a Losi xxx-4; and I believe that it will be more than enough to keep Stampy occupied.

I just can't understand why Stampy has a need to purchase car after car, and part after part... Rather than just settling down with one car and learning it. (Set-up, gearing, etc.)

I just become baffled by him.

Julius.
