Given the circumstances that is quite understandable. Racing really isn't going to be your priority for a while and you'll need a few extra quid around now.
You have all our best wishes I'm sure.

best bet is to join a local club and race whatever you have for fun, make friends with other members and learn from them.
when you gain more experience you can move on to better faster cars and take racing more seriously. |

Then race that instead of buying something new. You have plenty of spares and a good car.
Please explain why you are hellbent on getting a 4wd now? |

i would personally stick to the 2wd b4.
maintenance is almost zero. its very very strong. its quick with even a 7.5 brushless and cheap batteries. its easy to drive and you dont need to keep changing setups,it works just about everyhere. parts are cheap and easy to buy should you ever break something. and driving 2wd will learn you more about throttle control and not going flat out everywhere. |

I wasn't. Neither were the others.
You are just getting sound advice from people who have been racing for a long time and know what it's like to start out. |

Out of your 2 choises, i would have to say the B44 but only cos it seems to have a better following yet to look at them they look the same.. but me personally would run a buggy that takes stick packs cos that is what i've got already.
If i had the xxx4 i would be happy they say it aint very good on very bumpy tracks but i dont race on very bumpy tracks.. so sorted.. i race 2wd have done for the last 2 outdoor seasons now i'm racing it indoors.. started with an rc10B3 a lot of people told me it had very aggressive turn in which i adjusted and then learn'nt the driving style to suit. i now only recently changed to a Losi xxx which at the moment is totally opposite to the b3.. but i'm happy with 2wd cos 4wd, different ball game for a start at our club some of the buggies have run 3t brushless (2wd 6.5t, me 12x2 brushed) but we have a various range of brands in 4wd ZX 5's, Cat's, Durga's in 2wd X 5's, B4's, XXX's oh and a Madrat... yes i know i've waffled on and it prob dont go with the rest but hey

The B44 is probably you're best bet... (As advised a fortnight ago.)
Spares are easier to obtain, it's shaft-drive (I know you said you weren't keen on belt-drive.) and they're very popular which means set-up advice is easy to come by. The only problem is that you'll have to purchase a set of saddle-format cells. Julius. |
