So what can we say about this weekend running the new car then

Lets put it this way, im really happy with the way the car now feels, so much so that i was able to keep up and beat some 4wd's this weekend at Robin Hood.

Any questions about it feel free to fire them at myself, Brian Preddy or the main man himself

Danny

It was a tad surprising that you could keep up with the 4wd's, forecast at the moment is dry for ERP so will be another interesting run for the CR2's

Same setup as Oz i think Brian ran the same and just changed the front camber link, and danny was similar but was playing with various things to see what effect they had on the car. Both Danny & Brian were running the newer spec car.

Yes was good in the high and lower grip areas as well. Felt safe to drive and jumped very well, but was a little over motored with the 6.5R in it. I found the S2 was very similar handling but a little easier to drive for me with the 7.5L in it.

And there was me thinking that my 2wd was slow with a 6.5 in.

I'll happily let folks know my set up at the weekend if your wanting to try it. Seemed to work really well at RHR, may have to tweak it a little for the layout that EPR will do though. But that will have to wait until after the first practice

Right i'm having a look at building my new CR2, Why does the slipperclutch have to be on the righthand side of the car? Is it simply because it will loosen itself?
It seems like alot of messing about if thats the only reason, surely another solution would be better?
I'm probably missing the point......

Any help would be appreciated

When i ran the first version at Oswestry, the slipper was on the opposite side, but it needed a spacer between the gearbox and a hole drilled in the opposite casing for the layshaft. This enables a std speedo to be used(non reversible). But at epr i ran the slipper on the std side.
Thanks again for the loan of the car Jonathan. Cracking tool that helped me to get into the C final.

Ran it for one round in the 4wd class too as my 4wd was in pieces on the table. Put a faster time in too

Correct me if what i have said re. slipper is wrong JC?

Ah so i don't have to hack the gearbox if i use the Losi speedo in reverse, thats going to made it alot easier.

While i'm thinking about it, is there any way of using the standard Losi front end rather than the NT part, i've got the NT part on order but i don't think it will be here any time soon. Whats the difference between the std part and the NT?

It's not that difficult to fit the motorplate on the right hand side, but yes a lot easier if you can reverse rotation via the esc!

Because the NT has a flat alloy chassis the nose is designed to fit that, the CR nose has different moulding to fit the plastic chassis and associated bracing to stop it flexing.

Sounds like the car is still running awesome! Any update on when joe public can get one?? I assume it'll be the "new" version that's released?

Also, what are the details behind the "NT" stuff?

The cars will be the versions that the Horizon team ran at the EPR national.

I think the aim is to have them available after Jonathan gets back from the Belguim GP.

To complete the kit you will need the XXXnt lower kick plate, B4 servo posts and B44 battery posts.

I was told it was "all Losi" at the weekend (apart from the Atomic Carbon parts of course)

Not sure on those parts guys as i have had no experience with them. But if they are similar, i don't see why not.
I'm sure mr Preddy can answer this.

You have the LHD version of the CR2, which means no hacking of the gearbox, simply unbolt off the xxx-cr and bolt onto the CR2 chassis, and simply tick the box in the losi speedo software to reverse the rotation of the rotor.

There will be a RHD version at some point for speedos which you cannot reverse the rotor direction.

Atomic-Carbon battery posts will be included in the production version of the kits, we have used B4 servo mounts at the moment just down to most people being able to get them quickly if there not in there pitbox.

The current plan is to start production of the CR2 LHD when i get back from the belguim GP, and at a later date the RHD version.

Hope that clears up the questions
