Right guys, the time has come! We are leaving for Belgium tonight, to fly the flag for our nation in the Charleroi 24hr race. If anyone can be arsed to follow us we will be blogging regular updates on our website www.team-shambles.co.uk . I am taking my new orange dong so I can post some of our tomfoolery on here regularly.

Also, we are trying to raise money for Macmillan Cancer support whilst doing this, so please feel free to throw a few quid our way on our just giving link, which is on the website. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and you can leave a nice (or not if you choose lol) comment next to your donation.

Vive le England!

Big thanks to.....
Rob J for rebuilding the sham-car
Rob B for stripping (oh matron)
Ant for feeding and watering my lizard
Dave for sorting the lights and chuckle bus
Paul for the detailed spreadsheets/action plan

Team Shambles is now officially on the road. Split into two cars on our epic roadtrip. Shamcar 1 is Rob B's work car, with Ginger Ant and Paul and blatant disregard for his works fuel card. They are making good progress and are in Essex already. Shamcar 2 is Dave's chuckle-bus. We have been on the road for half an hour now, and have made it as far as Daves house. He forgot a cable so we had to return. Now en-route everything is going to plan so far..........

Tonights destination is Travel lodge in Dover somewhere. 2 rooms shared between 6 guys will be interesting.

So far 2 things have become evident on this epic learning curve of a roadtrip. 1) Dover is quite a long way away and 2) it is very hard to type in the dark.

100 miles in to our trip and Rob J has forgotten his passport. I am not making this up, he actually has. A quick about turn and now we are heading back up the a1. They don't call us team shambles for nothing!

Tally ho.

If you carry on like that at least you'll save on the hotel and make the ferry in time.

Hilarious already!.

Keep us posted on your trip across the channel. Are you going on it or under it?. If your going by boat I'd stay well clear of the sides, you wouldn't want to loose anything or anyone!!!!

Just reaached the travel lodge. So far we have covered 500 miles and not even made dover yet > After a few directional issues, Dave 'motorkiller' Dodd has now been re-named, Dave 'ah shit I was supposed to take that one' Dodd.

Rob J has won the 'Golden Cock' Award for forgetting the passport, although it did make me and Dave sheepishly check ours the second he said it.....lol.

Got to be up in an hour and a half Then we are going under the channel. Knowing our luck it will collapse or something.

Meanwhile, the occupants of shamcar1 are nicely tucked up in their room and have been for hours. An early wakeup call for them methinks......

Tomorrow we will press onwards to breach the French coast, we will liberate Calais first, and swiftly move on to the Belgian border after a brief party and celebration.

More things we have learnt so far....

Dave doesn't like, nor understand my Irish satnav lady

www.a1adultstore.com looks like a great sex shop, if only it was open untill 1am

sleep well tonight , brave men. For tomorrow we will press on into territory unknown....... some of us may not make it back to see loved ones, some of us may received terrible injuries in the line of battle (I have already cricked my neck from sleeping in the chuckle bus whilst Doddy seeming powerslides around motorway junction roundabouts) but we must fight hard for country and pride, and push onwards into hostile territory.

Peace out.

04:13 and we are on the orad again. We have re-united with shamcar 1 and they look much more fresh than us.

I have realised that whilst remembering my toothbrush I have forgotten my toothpaste and instead bought a tube of savlon. Well it looks like toothpaste?

I have made an alarming discovery.....Rob J owns a big gay manbag (see pic).

Things learnt this morning.....

Rob J is an actual metrosexual

Rob B has actually cleaned his rep-mobil

Travel lodge are rubbish, as they do not supply the mandatory biscuits with the free tea/coffe in the welcome pot. Fail

Daves chucklebus doesn't like my Queen CD

daves chucklebus actually goes round rooundabouts quite well

I cant get any pics on yet as using a 3g connection (with a french keyboard hence the appalling spelling and grammar)

breakages so far in practice are just our rear light amazingly.

will do a ,ore detailed report once we have finished practice.

Qualifying has just finished, Team Shambles are 'th on the rolling grid.

Pauls batteries are rubbish, despite being '4000mah', they don't last as long as my 3600mah Trakpowers! So slight change of race plan.

I seem to be the most tired despite not doing too much.

Rob J has started on the red bulls

1 tube of pringles has been eaten

We have been awake for over 10 hours already and the race hasn't even started yet!

Next telligram will comence once the advance is underway

If we live by the shambles code as we know it then we would have been disqualified already

first driver change and now angry rob is at the helm. Graham your posh shell is buggered already.

we also ,anaged to break a wing mount.

they have the worlds quietest doowango here too.

everyone keeps logging in to oople on the same laptop here, I have made it my mission to oople-rape the next person that leaves the, selves logged in

Things leqrnt so far..........

typing on french keyboqrds is very difficult

ant looks really ginger under strip lights

we didnt bring enough pringles

it seems acceptable for two men to kiss each other here.

peace out

I especially have my eye on that ginger one...... he best sleep with one eye open tonight

bad news Im afraid. Shamcar got trodden on by a marshal and is now dead last. our spares total now is 1 nose cone, 1 bulkhead, 1 wing, 1 hub carrier, 1 servo mount, 1 drive pin and 2 shock towers. Not bad even if I do say so myself.

The lights have just gone off and now its really scary. Ant just told me he wants a hug as he swears he just saw the boggie man.

We are slowly clawing our way back though, so dont write us off yet!
