As Jim Spencer is tired of saying - "You are the BRCA". The BRCA isn't a secret organisation that decides what rules to impose on the drivers, the rules are chosen and proposed by all the members then those members attending the AGM vote on which rules they want to keep and which rules to reject.

If someone proposes 5 cells and the majority vote it in then you'll be racing 5 cell next year. Alternatively if someone proposes 10 cells or 3s lipo and the majority vote it in, again that is what you'll be racing. It's entirely down to the members, not the committee.
Look at the bikes, they have been running soft cased lipos for years because the racers wanted it and voted for it. If you want lipos then rather than talk about it in various forums someone should propose it at the AGM and see whether the majority vote for them.

And Lipo is current technology, A123 Li-Ion is the future

you'll find very very few drivers who actually get any stuff free, let alone all of it!

too right. not all the sponsored drivers get stuff for free, just discounts.

My latest order for stuff cost me around £250 and there was only 6 or so items on there and most of them were spares.

If your that worried a 5 cell pack is just a 6 cell pack with a cell missing ..... disconnecting a cell should be easy enough, even in a stick pack!

I hate spending the money, but when it arrives - its like Christmas!

To save money, I could rebox some new stuff I have lay around and post it to myself.

Nevermind Alex.. your partially right, people do say "look what I am winning with" (sponsorship is about a heck of a lot more than that), but that doesn't mean they are getting anything free.

Assuming that it has been proposed, you need to attend the AGM and vote!

I can't really see 5 cell coming for off rd. There really is no point. For touring car racing, it has worked IMHO (as a touring car racer!), but for off rd, no really point i don't think.

I may try it some time and se how it is. For 2wd, i can't see it making any real difference, you'd just drop the odd wind or so, and all would be well.

Why would anyone still want to race with NIMHs with all the benefits that lipo's bring. Hopefully sometime soon enough people will wake up to lipo technology, demand will increase and all this 5 cell nonsense will go away. And while we are at it why not increase race times to 10mins!
