Default Are Electrics the Same 2wd and 4wd SCT?

Hi Y'All,

Just discovered the 1/10 SCT class and have been looking for a truck to race at my local club.

Are the electrics the same between 2wd and 4wd or are the 4wd electrics more like the 1/8 brushless stuff?

I have a complete set of 1/10 buggy electrics that should work ok in a 2wd SCT?

Advice appreciated.

Thanks!

2WD trucks run normal 540 sized motors and speedos as used in 1/10th buggys,

Depends what size/type your existing motor/system is and what truck you plan to use it in whether it is suitable, some trucks won't handle a high power brushless system well, it'll mess the handling up or destroy the transmission

4WD's really need 550 motors or 4 pole 540 sized with large capacity speedos and high mah/c rated lipos to get the best from them, they are heavy and with larger wheels than buggys they use a lot of power.

You can get away with a standard 540 motor in a durango 4wd short course

Not really, most 4wd will run a 550 size motor or a 4 pole 540 motor

Pretty sure you can as I ran one at the nationals last year and club meetings, just my driving that let it down

We run in an Sc10 4x4 a SP GT2 Pro and Orca 6.5T 540. It does seem ok so far!

In the other SC10 4x4 we have one of the Toro SC120 Combo's. Its OK but not as smooth as the SP. However they are cheap!
