i'm gonna use wide stagger/mini-pins combo and shorty config. Last edited by 5tone; 23-09-2015 at 02:19 PM. |

A few use them at our tight carpet track my girls inc , they go ok . Running on foams though , I found B steering helped through the tight corners .

I'm actually going back to the 22-4 for Carpet after trying the B44.3 and K1. The car just works better for me personally. I find that I have way more than enough steering that I need for the tighter carpet tracks, its just the slower change in direction that becomes a bit difficult to resolve. Up until now though I have only used the TLR Springs, so going to try the AVID Springs and see if the car can be leaned on a bit harder in the tight hairpins. I've always run with the Mini-pins both front and rear.

I now rebuild it after season on clay, where got 2nd overall in season.
I'm using Itellect slim shorty, avid springs, new front belt cover and exotek rear camber block, will try minipins/widestaggers and minipins all around, to see what's better. Problem for me as I'm now finishing with setup, that I cannot find tight 12sec laptime track setup with low jumps, and I don't really know where to start. Only thing I don't have from suggested hopups is HRC rear block. Oils 500/500; Ride high as low as possible; wide alu hexes in rear; MIP cvd's in rear. most inner holes on shocks; camber links as short as possible. 2mm front/rear shock limiters. 6.5T Reds combo. I guess this will be my initial setup, and I eager to see if it will remove my main problem I had last year -slow corner speed and large corner radius as cars inner front wheel was raising above surface. I found B made it better through the tight corners .

Did you check video in previous page, is your track similar, if yes maybe you can share your overall setup?

Our track is a bit smaller than that , I can have a look for the set up I had .

Please do
Want to get as many xrays this year as possible, last year I couldn't compete with them on carpet, but on the clay they were no match for TLR 22-4. Also my teammate got Sworkz 104 evo want to get him as well. In attachm my TLR 22-4. |

This is my default starting setup for carpet. As I said, I will be trying without the TLR Springs on carpet next. The rear 22 Setup is using the standard 22 UJ Driveshaft.

like everyone has said dont use the low fr springs use the original big bore springs.
what is happening from the sound of it is the rear suspension is collapsing causing the inner front wheel to lift. this can be prevented by running stiffer rear springs and matching the damping accordingly. moving the rear shocks in on the tower will increase side bite and make the suspension feel softer standing the shocks up will reduce side bite and increase steering. http://www.petitrc.com/reglages/BuggySetupGuide.pdf this should help you

Regarding tower shock position, than I should move out in rear and move in in front tower? Petitrc looks down now, will check guide as soon as it's up again. |

You use 5mm travel limiters on rear and 3mm on front for shocks?

3mm and 5mm internal limiters were what I settled on yes. I'll be trying different sizes this month though. You can use a lot of internal limiters on a smooth carpet track, unless you have huge jumps, in which case I would reduce the size of the limiter a little.

What would be the effect of running such limiters? less moving suspenssion?

Very effective in reducing grip roll. as it restricts the physical amount that the car will lean/tilt left or right when in a turn. The restriction on the shock travel also tends to increase the rate at which the car changes direction. The loss of the droop and limited shock travel can however allow the car to 'bottom out' off large jumps, so you'll have to try different settings.

Just tried some setup changes this week:
Shortest posible camberlinks in rear (inner positions on exotek camber and on rear hubs); Avid springs; Flipped rear wishbones; 500 Oil all around; medium swaybar in front. Car felt better, but still I need ~0.5 sec on 12sec laps to be as fast as leaders. This weekend will try to add HRC block, 5mm spacers in rear, 3mm spacers in front shocks and add 22 2.0 rear end, and see how it goes. Also will try to run on Schumacher blue minipins all around, as maybe front cut staggers didn't let me to do tight corners. Good: Front wheel flipping is gone; Need yet to fix: 1. Rear wheel tends to raise on tight corners - what seemed strange only on right turns on left ones it was ok; 2. I would like the car to be more agile able to turn faster and get tighter inner corners. I'm also open to any suggestions. |
