The carbon looks nice on the car when theres no electrics in but can somebody tell me why you couldnt just remove the plastic one if you leave the aerial holder in and just servo tape the speedo down to the chassis?

if you don't have the 1mm plastic/carbon you will lose the room in the side pod, because they will be on two different height levels between the chassis and side pod, i know its only a mm difference but ever mm counts

I use the kit one often when cleaning the car, if you stick your electrics to it well it makes it so easy to remove them.

Thats what I've done with mine. The plastic one was flexing and allowing dirt undr the tape, and it sometimes came loose and it collected a lot of dirt an grit under it too. Plus cutting it from the aerial mount means theres no nut at the side of the spur, so its allowed me to move the speedo back a little, leaving more room up front. It might only be 3-4mm, but like timmy said, every mm counts.

only problem i see whith this is the potetial to tweak the chassis or cause an inbalance in flex.
the kit plastic one will allow flex, the carbon one wont flex.

I think the answer would be to just cut out the cooling holes on the opposite side, to counteract the tweak caused by the carbon plate
