Default questions to richard lowe

hiya richard
the set up you have posted for your b4.1 for rhr would this be a good set up for dry bumpy grass?
also which hole do i mount the ball stud on the rear hubs as its not clear on the set up sheet,as for the limiters in your shocks 5 in the front 2 in the rear are these spacers in mm,s.
thanks jamie

Hey I am planning on running b4 with lipo and a 7.5 turn brushless
I am a little confused about what tyre to use outdoors at batley. do i run stagger at the front on 4wd fronts or use narrow rims?and what inserts will suit? I am assuming the rear will be yellow min spikes..

There really only two different tyres used by most B4 drivers (in the dry).

We normally opt for a 2wd minispike in yellow or the new cut stagger rib. In either instance we'd use the standard front wheel (not narrow).

The difference between the two is primarily the amount of turn in you will get. If you choose the minispike option and then have two much turn-in, then you could always cut the outside row off.

the stagger ribs do you mount them the whole width of the rim or to the inner rib?

Hi
I copied your bottom SC10 setup exactly except for the tyres and I only had 40w oil to rebuild my shocks due to a shortage at the shop.
I'm loving it, very happy. I will get some new tyres soon but as the car is only for bashing I think there will be very little I will change about it.
I also didn't have the weights you've used so made some and added a little to the left of the car to balance it left to right and then screwed 40g to the front shock tower until I can get some sticky weights or something a little more FT!
Thank you for sharing it and allowing me to copy it as I bought it 2nd hand and have never owned a SCT and had no idea were to start.

Happy days.
Looking forward to getting it down the local track.

Oh and one other thing I will experiment with is the gearing. I have an 82 spur and 18 pinion on a 5.5t (5.5t is all I had) and it seems ok for now but I also have an 87spur and a 19 and 20 pinion.
Any combo of them you would suggest?

Thanks
Phil

00.30 limiters
They are the same size as you will be using for your ball studs although in plastic not metal.
Each 00.30 is 1mm from memory
Part number is As4187
Hope that helps.
Reasons for fitting them to limit down travel, stop driveshafts popping out and also you normally run them as a tuning aid on smooth tracks
Quick explanation to be honest in b4 most tracks its 00.90 in front so x3 spacers and 00.30 in rears so one spacer each side obviously
Stick with what most others run you won't go wrong unless your using other parts not as factory fit.

Carpet setups do you mean?
Who attended? Any AE drivers?
I'm sure that the carpet setups won't change much to the outdoor ones other than 5-10w heavier oil all round
Outside on all arms I'm guessing
Rear inner camber link lifted higher
And maybe a row or two of the tyres all round

Best carpet setup I know of which is very rarely changed by me is bradders petite 2011 setup for b44.1
Try it it's good!

Keep an eye on the petite site for setups
