I managed to get into the oOple Open Series 'B' final this weekend. It's probably one final up from where I would normally be with my standard 410. There's no doubt in my mind now - the DARC has converted a crap driver into a middling driver.

One odd thing - in one race I managed to pop my rear centre drive shaft. I didn't have any major collision when it happened. I have the longer V3 outdrive fitted and on the bench the shaft is at least 7mm inside the outdrive. I can't bend the chassis enough to recreate the problem and yet it must have flexed enough for it to happen. I checked that the rear gear box was fully positioned and even stripped it down thinking one of the crown pinion bearings may have collapsed allowing the shaft to move inwards. However, there was no problem there. I also checked all chassis/motor mount screws and nothing was loose. I'd be interested to see if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Hi Tony
I'm glad the 410darc is performing well for you
We have not heard of any driveshaft popping issues and as you say the rear shaft is in by a lot on the V3 longer rear outdrive.
The only thing I can think of is, was the shaft in when you started the race?
I have seen a few durango owners in eagerness missing a shaft when fitting the clutch.
But other than that I cannot see another cause
Very odd that one
Thanks

As you say odd. It was OK for the first couple of laps so the shaft must have been in when I started. Anyway, hopefully it was a one off.

On another topic, I'd like to buy a new body so that I can have one pro painted. I don't see any on your website store - do you have them in stock?

I'm interested in the thicker carbon sides, but I can't see them in your shop section. How much please?

Hi Tony
The kit is £20 including postage in the UK
The sides are 3mm thickness carbon glass mix ( still look like carbon fibre ) and 10mm high and not countersunk
So will come with button head screws to attach.

Super thanks.

I'll send a Paypal for a body £18 + £5.65 postage and £20 for the sides = £43.65.

Default DARC 410

Another win today for the D.A.R.C. 410.
Qualified second, 1.5 seconds behind the ftd man Lee (super fast)Hedges.
Grass had all but gone by the final,so took a gamble and stuck a set of turf rippers on and won the final by 6 seconds.

Hey Scott!
Hope the hollidays are sweat

little remark here: (rear) driveshaft popping: happened to me to though. However it was only once AND in a crash. The car was ok, nothing broke but I noticed the strange driving so stopped ... luckely before that rear driveshaft demolished somthing under the hood.

Scott will send you pm about the sides.

yo chaps,

I'm adding some pictures and info on the DARC-site (see Gallery).
I am currently looking for as much material as possible and was thinking about using some of the pics you all were so kind to post overhere.

I'll be copying them or link them through. Please just contact me if you would like any of these pics removed from the DARC-site. I'll do so ASAP!

Thx in advance.

Ludo

As mentioned higher ...
added some content to the Dark-side .. oops, meant DARC-site

check out the What's new section, .. but fair warning: it won't be new stuff if you are on top of DARC-things on oOple.
It's just an attempt of getting the site up-to-date
