Thats right, what you call soap is actually the residue from the anodizing. It contains little pieces of hardened metal that act like mini razor blades that score the shock wall and rip the seals. Washing the shocks well will solve the problem.

Over the last few months i have ordered parts from schumy and notice i was over charged due to a miss keyed part number even thou i got the correct part.
I called them yesterday to make another order and today got the parts and a was credited with the error
I also had a drive shaft problem and spoke to Robin on monday, he was a very helpful man in regards the replacement of the faulty part and the advise on the other two small problems which i have suffered.
All in all i`m well chuffed with the SV and is now adding my slymodz to it. First the slim line topdeck, then a mod to the reduced gap gear box to aid weather and dust, and then the rear bumper.

Had one of the Universal drive shaft let go on my first run, car had about 12mins on it when the pin flew out onto the track somewhere.. never to been seen again. i ended up sticking a spare catsx front on the car to keep me going.. it was a smidge longer but wasnt binding or touching anything..

finished building the car last night and had my first run today, although not very successful

3 laps in, and my ball diff slipped really bad. Funny as it let go all of a sudden, not a slowly slip. I was sure to tighten up the grub screw, but it had loosen itself. So I'm new to schumacher ball diffs. So if the grub screw loosens, then the ball diff will undo itself? I thought the ball diff was under tension from the disc spring. So everytime I want to make an adjustment to the ball diff, do I need to make adjustments to the grub screw too? Sounds like an overly complicated system

So I tightened the diff up, and then one of the screws came off the the bellcrank. Didnt care too much about the screw, but had lost the post and bearing. Lucky I had another kit, as this will be used for spares. Not schumachers fault for this, I rushed the build and didnt apply threadlock where I would usually, even though the manual does not indicate to use it.

Anyway, my initial thoughts were that the car has heaps of steering and jumped really well and handled the bumps very well. Going to dial out some steering tomorrow during the heats/races.

I also had a notchy gearbox, however it didnt seem to affect the performance even though it doesnt roll freely compared to other cars.

PS, not a fan of the wing attachment, need to hold with part under the wing with pliers, otherwise it will keep on spinning and wont tighten up.

Well I'm home and not at the track today. Barely got a full pack in.

My diff loosened up. Will rebuild and add some threadlock to the diff halve where screw goes in.
My steering alum pivot loosened up and flew off somewhere on the track.I could of sworn I had thread lock on these.
Ruined my weekend. Figures this would be the only spare I dont have in my box.
Buggy felt very neutral on the loose dirt. Jumped really well. Ran JConcepts groovys and Goosebumps. Gonna go through the car this week and double check all screws that make contact with metal.
The car does seem to have less droop than others when using kit settings for shock length. I went -2 turns front and rear for more droop before I hit the track.

You can swap out the ball ends for longer ones and this will increase to droop. Dave Church swapped mine out last week before I had even turned a wheel on the track.

.. I have also had issues with metal in the shocks (it looked like I had filled them with glitter) and very soft track rods... Gear box is not too bad and my slipper and drive shafts seem OK so far after two meetings.

Does anybody have problem with the sero horn? Mine pulled lose from the servo today. The plastik got rounded inside and is not fixed on the servo. Is this the result of no servo saver?

Cut a corner to mutch and hit a gocart tire.
